I think we all knew we were on a hiding to nothing yesterday. Lincoln are on fire and are scoring for fun as recent results show, no team in this league can live with them at the moment. We’ve just played them at the wrong time. Time to move on. Accepting a 5-0 defeat against anyone is a losing mentality let alone the mighty Lincoln! Jeez Paul Buckle's lower your expectations clearly still resonating with some gasheads. 🙈 We lost 5 nil we have to accept it, we can hardly refuse it.

This is not a 5-0 game. We've had more possession, just as many shots, more shots on target, missed a Penalty. We should of scored at least 3 ourselves. Lincoln have just been absolutely ruthless, they've scored 6, 5 and another 5 today in their last 3 games and you can see why. This is a very harsh scoreline. Thank you Mr Taylor

At 23:05 he says building work on the stadium will commence not next season but the season after that. I'm sure that will be a disappointment to many! That is a long way off. Hopefully by then the consultations and planning permissions etc will all be in place by that time.

This game should have been a training game against the bottom team on a seven match losing run, Whatever the result today something is seriously wrong

I don’t think we could ever compete with a squad entirely of home grown players, I cant think of a team these days that does or could. Though there is no reason why we couldn’t bring through some local talent into the side in future. The higher placed sides scouting in this area will still miss some of the talent here and possibly some youngsters may be worried by the expectation of those clubs and may think they could do better at our level.

Yesterday was poor, but not the worst I’ve seen by a long way, it is just disappointing nothing more. Two mid table sides with equally depleted squads it was never going to be a great spectacle. We know from some bitter experience Northampton is never an easy place to come. To be fair they have some decent support and make a fair bit of noise which added to our great turnout at least gave the occasion an enjoyable atmosphere. Once again we didn’t turn up for the first five minutes and Northampton took advantage we huffed and puffed for another thirty five or so minutes before conceding another sloppy goal although to be fair on balance of play Northampton deserved their lead. Second half we started brighter ,were the better side and eventually got one back. Then just as it looked like we might get something out of the game Bang an absolute belter of a goal and it’s all over. Back to the coach for a brief discussion about what we all think it went wrong before a subdued sleepy ride home. When alls said and done there’s nothing better than a trip away with a load of gasheads and of course a result makes it all the sweeter, but a great day out all the same.

Tripe or truth? "We can't hide away from the fact that, every time we come up against this type of challenge, we fall short." "In a certain type of game, a less 'clean' game you might say, where it's a little bit more 'back-to-front' and a bit of physicality is needed, we're short in that department. We have a chance one end of the pitch, miss the target and the ball goes out of play for a goal kick. More than likely - ten seconds later - we're defending our box. That happens every single time: whether it's a long throw, or another set piece, or whether it's an unchallenged ball in the middle of the pitch. Regardless of who I've changed personnel-wise, the outcome is still the same. I've been jumping to different formations and different solutions, but - I guarantee - it won't change. It won't change because, unfortunately, the nature of the squad, the 'DNA' of the squad, is not to go towards the ball. We're not capable of doing that. So, we're going to have to find a way of protecting them (the team), but I can't protect against a goal kick". "That's a clear weakness and it seems to have been there for longer than just this season, in relation to everyone saying that 'Bristol Rovers do well against the big teams on a clean pitch in a clean game of football and then get beaten by the bottom-half teams in a certain type of game. That is going to be down to recruitment at the end of the season. This group of players can get better at it. We are working with them every single day to recognise it (the problem)". "The second goal (today) from a goal kick. Suddenly, the ball's in the back of our net. It drives me absolutely mad." "People talk a lot about the shirt... but, when the ball's there, you have to challenge" "I've tried my hardest to be consistent, in terms of giving players a chance. Now, every single game like this (when we get beaten), I have to change it. I have to be seen to change it." "We're capable of more, but the game is constantly telling us where we're weak" "We were chasing the game with the same attacking patterns: no ball-speed, no end-moments" "We're so leaky, it's disgraceful" "Can we take those moments of an opposition long-ball out of the equation? We can't. We cannot do that. Can we take a second ball out of the middle of the pitch? Can we take a set-piece moment? We can't do that. Those are the bare essentials of lower-league football and it's just not been valued enough in all departments for too long at this football club. It is being valued now". How utterly pathetic. You’re the manager Take some responsibility.

If everyone could stop being so ruddy bi-polar after every match it would be a start. We are ,and have been since August, a mid table third tier side. Nothing more, and certainly nothing less. We have yet to put together a run of three straight wins all season. The previous permanent manager set us up to play pretty football, but forgot that at this level there are lots of teams who prefer to play a simpler, more physical game with a win at all costs approach. Especially those with less resources than us. We have struggled to compete in any of these games all season. At the other end there are half a dozen teams with bigger resources, bigger fan bases and a lot more spending power. All of these have played in the Prem at some point. Bar gambling and potentially putting the club into administration (or as I like to call it, doing a Swindon) it’s going to be hard to compete financially with these. Also it has been historically hard to attract players to Bristol from places like London and the North West. There have been faults from all three managers this season, as well as individual player errors. The seeming lack of desire against both Exeter and Fleetwood at home compared to opposition who a fighting to stay up I found worrying. The lack of an out and out goalscorer has hamstrung us all season. I genuinely don’t believe JCH is the magic solution to this, and Martin has done well to paper over the cracks, but this is the absolute priority this summer. In conclusion let’s just accept we are where we are, and to progress it’s going to need a change in personnel and mindset through the off season. I trust Taylor totally in this, he has previous success with both Exeter and Rotherham to achieve this. But we as fans really need to temper our reactions, as it just becomes exhausting to be so up or down all the time. As someone who has Mental Health issues maybe we need some collective CBT? Good post, but lets be honest not realistic. This is how football fans behave its our very nature we can't change what we are.
