Slocombe 6.5 - only had to pick the ball out the net Partington 7.5 - was fairly tidy today Brown 7 - usual steady game Lockyer 8 - back to his old self Craig 7.5 - organises and a good talker Bennett 8.5 MOM - a constant pain, great game Lines 7.5 - constantly working hard to find that killer pass Sinclair 7 - Played as though he now has a challenge for his place Sercombe 6.5 - a bit subdued Gaffney 6.5 - Tried hard with little effect Harrison 6.5 - not his best game
Subs Telford 6.5 Moore 6.5 Clarke 6.5
Crowd 8 D.C. 7 Northampton 4
Got to take your chances!!!! Not good enough in the final third but at times some lovely football was played by us. Just one of those games. Knowing us we will go to the muff next week and beat them!! UTG onto the next project!!

Where has all this come from? It is a shame that people are jumping to conclusions without knowing the facts. Anyone who knows Tom knows there is no way he has got cocky he likes a laugh as shown in his interviews. Also there was and never has been an exchange of words with Dc they get on very very well. With regards to what he is paid has nothing to do with anyone apart from him. Well said Eddie, top man

TC for the Wimbledon goal had a bloke with a 6 inch <ahem> advantage over him so he tried pinning him and failed. Yesterday he barely put a foot wrong and it's also worth noting that it was one of Locks' best games this season alongside TC. Also he's played a lot of football and can help out young defence through. The senior member of the backline is Brown and he's only 27. Broadbent, Clarke, Sweeney have probably only 60 league appearances between them He will help the development of these guys. I think DC is proving a point to TB as he seems to have got a bit too big for his boots and carried away with the positive press, new contract etc. He was starting to come across as a bit cocky in interviews in my opinion. It happens, he's probably gone from ยฃ500 a week to ยฃ2,500 a week I imagine and it's well deserved. There's a whisper somewhere that TB confronted DC after the Wimbledon game which would make sense as to why he was left out again yesterday. This all isn't a dig at TB, just an observation. Overall TB has had an exceptional first season, playing more times than we all would have imagined, and I hope his improvement continues with us. Tom's dad has just quoted on the FB appreciation page that all of this is utter crap! He is keen to know that all fans realise this and stop making up false rumours. D.C. and TB get on very well, no arguments have been had, and he is not been cocky. If you cannot believe his dad who can you believe!!!

Smith 6 - early mistake but did not let it affect him later Leadbitter 6 - subbed early Craig 8.5 - just what we need, hardly put a foot wrong Broadbent 9 MOM - running out of things to say about this fella Brown 7 - Steady return Lines 7 - more effective in the second half Sinclair 6.5 - usual 100 % Sercombe 6.5 - strangely subdued Bennett 7 - a bit light weight at times but very skilful Clarke 7.5 - dogged performance Harrison 7.5 - consistent and really troubled defenders in second half
Partington 7 - Did well and was very effective Other subs NOLE
Oxford 5 - Good first half but didn't like it up um Mr Manwaring Ref 4 - another tossed D.C. 9 - spot on Crowd 10 - away support fantastic
Good 3 points, we battered them 2nd half! Always enjoy my trip to Oxford. UTFG

Smith 6 - Good distribution but nothing to do but pick the ball out the net Partington 6.5 - Got beaten a few times Bola 6 - Very average performance Craig 7 - Good experience, when settled in should be an asset Broadbent 8 MOM - Looking a great prospect Clarke 6 - average at best Lines 6 - Not one of his better games Sercombe 6 - Gone off the boil in recent weeks Sinclair 7 - Decent game and adaptable Gaffney 6.5 - Tried hard with little effect Harrison 7 - More consistent this season
Bennett 6.5 - Flashes of quality Mensah 6 - Looks a bit out of his depth especially having to defend Nichols NOLE
Ref 4 - Once more water poor Shrewsbury 8 - Decent robust team D.C. 5 - Got it wrong today with subs Crowd 7 - Good in places
Unlucky not to get a point, Shrewsbury are a decent team made up mostly of giants. To our credit we matched them for most the game but could not quite see it through. Bola for me is a weak spot and Sercombe is wasted on the left. Bennett looks a skilful player but not going to chase back and tackle. However, once the new players bed in we will be a better unit, off to Oxford we go UTG

Smith 7 - Great first half save, very competent Partington 6.5 - Another tricky winger against him, not at his best Broadbent 8.5 - Played on th unfamiliar right side. Didn't put a foot wrong, again. Sweeney 8 - Improved performance and a tap in. Bola 6.5 - In my opinion was the weak link, too many pointless balls and not as fast as he has been. Lines 7 - Faded in the second half Clarke 7 - Better first half, is definitely returning to last season's form. Sinclair 8 - Asked to play in different roles and adapted well. Two great chances which were well saved. Sercombe 7.5 - Not as effective on the left but still a good source. Gaffney 7.5 - Great battling performance without an end product (apart from the goal) Harrison 9 - Wow, a constant irritant to a small Donny defence. Superb goal, Ellis is now the complete centre forward and turning heads. Hats off to him.
Subs Brown 6.5 - Slotted in to left back well Menayese 6.5 - Did all that was expected of him Nichols - NOLE
Ref 4 - Let too much go early on and lost control. I think one of the many home appeals for a penalty was justified. D.C. 10 - 4 formation changes which did the job Donny 5 - Good attacking with no end product. Defensively poor but had no centre halfs fit. Crowd 7 - Good following but quiet for most of the game.
Donny ran rings around us for the first 15 mins and we looked as though we would struggle but the tinkerman prevailed and made changes that blunted them. Superb effort by Ellis who battled and bullied the make shift Donny defence. Home fans not happy but IMO Ellis did nothing untoward that warranted the red card they wanted. The two left footed central defenders did well and ensured the skipper was not missed. Bola is the only player that worries me as he does not seem to be in tune with the rest of the team. Anyway 3-1 away from home is a cracking result UTG, roll on Shrewsbury!!!

Wheeler has an ankle injury that needs surgery that will keep him out for months, so we won't be seeing him!
