Down here,Torquay are at an even lower ebb than us.Since Christmas they have lost their owner, entered Administration, lost manager Gary Johnson, been deducted ten points and sit just two points above the National League South relegation zone.Think they accompanied us when we lost our league status so very difficult times for them.A consortium of fans have announced plans to launch a bid for ownership to 'Create a Community owned club for the future.'

First time I've been in a while last night so thought I'd check out the South stand. What hit me generally is how bad a club we are at the moment. It's like we are a zombie team. It's like the soul has been sucked out of the club. The south stand is nice but the finishing touches seam really cheap, i mean can we not fork out for a proper partition rather than some black cloth held together with some zip ties. The whole atmosphere seemed so dead. There was no real pre-match build up, no motivation or optimism. The Reading fans put us to shame. Having said that though it's understandable given the football that was served up. I wouldn't say our team is dire, I think individually we have good players but we are just so inefective, so many mistakes, so sloppy. We desperately need a decent striker. We need a team that are up for the game. The only player that really stood out was Thomas but he can't do it all on his own. As for Taylor it's hard to know what to say. We are worse than we were under Barton and he got sacked. We haven't scored a goal in seven games. This is worse than Garner. I don't like managers being sacked but can he really turn it around. I don't think we are going to attract any much better playes than we have. Do we really want to trust taylor to spend our budget for next season. The club needs some life putting back into it and that lies with the very top. Let's have some leadership and get the club going. Otherwise we will be back in our League 2 cycle again. All pretty depressing stuff. South stand so much better than the tent but a bit lacking overall.Doubt if I'll go Sat now as my enthusiasm has totally disappeared. We are where we are sadly which is in a very bad place. When do the extensions etc to the Quarters begin? Will it be this summer?Looking for something positive but won't hold my breath.

Well he didn’t have that many games in charge this season before he was sacked but yes he obviously built the squad in the summer. Staying up was always going to be a big ask though as I’d imagine they’ve got one of the smallest budgets in the championship and they were the lowest ranked club at the beginning of the season in terms of odds for promotion / favourites to go down. So D.c took us down. Joey took us down. Wasn’t Matty’s fault Rotherham going down despite record summer signing. You trust Matty to work on an even smaller budget, harder to attract players to Rovers than Rotherham. What ever fits your agenda. Our ramshackle stadium can't help attract players but guess it's the money offered that really matters.

Without that season we’d have missed out on seeing Gas legends like Adam Cunnington, Bradley Goldberg and Anthony Wall gracing the Mem I strangely enjoyed the conference season even with that footballing talent you’ve mentioned. However the relief when manse slotted that pen in my opinion is & will remain the most important moment in gas history. That Manse moment nearly killed me.If he missed I'd be phoning the Samaritans and if he scored I'd be running down Stafford High Street naked.Manse runs up and my wife says,'Could you order Mum some name labels now she's in a Care Home and if you order more than 50 it's cheaper'.Manse scores and I said ' You can have 5 million ....... labels.'No need for that ' she said. No soul that was the trouble but such a moment was totally lost on my beloved.I cried.

Biggest moment was when Alfreton visited us.An elderly fan became very emotional and said,'I have never dreamt we'd be playing Big teams like this'.

Remember all the funny videos they produced back then too. I remember jack gosling getting plaudits for becoming Gibraltars record goal scorer. We won in the last minute at Mansfield with a Snakey header.Goz came on as sub and beat 89 defenders with a mazy run.Jermaine Easter was sent off and our goalie dived three minutes after the ball hit the net for their goal.An ex City player,Nicky Hunt, was constantly fouling off the ball but was eventually sent off. We had an 8' 12" Dutch goalie too who used to do a spectacular drive after the ball had hit the back of the net.Jordi Van Stapperhoef or something.
