I ruined my computer monitor by using tippex on it. Didn’t work either, still printed off the incorrect version. 😎 Ah, but do you remember the Tippex thinners….. 😵💫

Great first half. We were really poor 2nd half after Cox blunder. I hope Taylor has a plan, to boldly dismiss a striker such as JCH as an option must mean he has a ‘guaranteed’ scoring striker lined up, something we obviously do not. Nailed on goalscorer and a solid keeper are urgent priority, plenty of gaps to plug, loans not the answer.

Given we haven’t got a proper number 9, expect lots and lots of games where we get 70% possession and lose 0-1 This is the problem. I like Collins, and he does have talent, but he is definitely not a number 9. What was really disappointing was last Saturday he was dodging headers and moving back from the central defender hoping they would miss or mishead the ball on headers and with a hope of nicking it. He also, and very noticeably judging to the berating by the Thatchers fans, slowed his runs at time when he should have been chasing down and making a tackle. Unsettling big slow defenders, especially like Wycombe's, should be a given from any centre forward. At the moment I see him as a luxury on the pitch and not a necessity, I think Lofty (and we should only be selling him IF we have replacement in physical presence) would do a far better job of causing defences problems. Still that's just my view.....

I'm not sure how any Rovers fan could be against JCH signing. It's not our money the club are spending, and who else could we realistically sign that comes anywhere close to JCH's record? In 4.5 years JCH has scored 103 goals in 181 starts. Okay, only 12 in the Championship, but we're in L1, and including cups, he's scored 91 in 137 starts at this level. He's 29, so still in his prime, scoring 29 in 54 appearances last season. He's also rarely injured. He will score goals in any side, he proved that scoring 26 for a very average Rovers side last time around. Personally, I'd be delighted if he's back in the quarters on Saturday. Sure. I'm not against it, just not fussed. His record at lg1 is good, he has presence etc. I just remember him sulking and having a pop at others which wouldn't be a good thing. I also don't think our style suits a last defender type striker. If it did, Marquis would be doing the business. We don't have CMs that link well with the strikers atm. We don't put enough crosses in from wide(although it was a bit better on saturday). Perhaps he'd be the missing link, but I'm not convinced. I was watching the warm up on Saturday and shooting practice was into the main goal in front of the Blackthorn. Sincs, Thomas, Collins, Evo, Marquis were all cracking them in from all angles, top bins and side net etc. When it came to the game, almost no one had a shot in them and to me its a pure lack of confidence and self belief. Anyone that has seen JCH play knows he has this by the bucket load. Furthermore I believe that confidence and self belief are contagious, I know his previous spell did not manifest itself amongst others but we now have a quality team that he can influence. I am fussed and, if he comes back, I will be delighted but I do totally respect the right of opinion of others. It always been the same, when you cannot have it everyone wants it, now we are seeing investment and we can we are starting to get a bit fussy!

All I want is a pasty that doesn’t require an asbestos pallet to consume and a beer I don’t have to wait in line for 30mims for. Yours sincerely Mr Dinosaur I have heard that you are not considered a true denzian of the North Terrace, unless you have consumed a product with internal ingredients three times temperature of the Sun. Rite of passage I am afraid. In all seriousness, it is standard practice to ensure that all products are heated to such a level all moisture and flavour is removed. The best one last season was a pasty of which the bottom of the paper bag has literally dried and burned to state it was decomposing pastry and brown flakes of burned paper. As I stared, incredulously the young lad serving asked me if I wanted to change it, I simply stated “Please, I just want to live…….”

I agree and what about the incident with Marquis with Oxford where the guy pushed him in the face. I think it doesn't look good for Rossiter (from what I can see on the replay), but it's in the refs line of sight so shouldn't be retrospectively punished. You have to assume the ref is now claiming that he didn't have a clear view, hence the charge. I also hope they review the hand into Marquis face recently whilst he was flat on his back. They only have to watch the EFL highlights programme to see it.

Don't forget, extensive roadworks are taking place, so best look to travel at least 30mins earlier for home games, plus some residential roads will be closed, so it will probably mean less car parking spaces available. Thanks for that, had totally forgotten, going to be busy now we have a new signing as well UTG

Few updates on players that may have been of interest to us: Hibs offered 500k plus add ons for Harry McKirdy Fleetwood second bid in for Cole Stockton, seemingly beating Port Vale at the moment Christian Doidge is free to leave Hibs, with FGR set to snap him up…. Think all three of these lads would improve us in the forward position…. Cannot feel any joy in the thought of McKirdy joining, Doidge could still prove to be an asset though.

I purchased a season ticket for the Thatchers terrace and I was a season ticket holder in the same area last season. I have the season ticket card from last year but I also received a e-ticket yesterday. I am guessing it may be because I renewed after the initial discount period and tbf I do not mind the new e-tickets as they can be dropped into the Apple Wallet.

Definitely a lot of potential and JB has shown his pedigree in bringing the best out of players, I was of a similar mind on Finlay and Evans when they signed, hopefully we have another success story here! Welcome Jordan.

Just saw a story that Simpson has been recalled by Ipswich, looks like is is either being sold or moved to another club, apparently they have a glut of strikers so not being recalled for cover. I can see that having a major effect on Swindon, a huge part of the limited physical presence they have gone.

I could be wrong but I believe JJOT has played CB for the last couple of seasons. Doing well to still be playing. Must be getting on a bit now? He has and done well apparently.

Lovely day at the Mem. Very warm but not as warm as the contents of a Piglet Pie which is two degrees hotter than the surface of the Sun and comes with free scalds and a smouldering paper bag. Also Pitman is the only player with a tracksuit top on.

I tweeted the on the lack of information a couple of times, tagging the club and Tom Gorringe. I pointed out that with lots of fans potentially queuing at the ticket office or trying to sort tickets at club shop that it would be carnage not to mention the loss of business in the bars etc. I did eventually get a response from TG which had no sort of explanation or apology just saying that a solution would be put in place by 10.00am this morning and it should not impinge on peoples bar time too much, reads totally passive/aggressive.
I suspect Wael will eventually step in and post an apology through the website. I know certain posters have said 'what's the fuss?' as its being sorted today but its the hassle and the lack of any information/concern from the club. Sadly all part of being a loyal Gashead I suppose. Anyway lets get behind the boys tomorrow and get them fired up - UTG!!!

I spoke to Ticketmaster this morning they told me that although I am a verified season ticket holder I would not be getting my plastic card or digital season tickets until at least the third game of the season, I purchased it 2 months ago. They also said that I should go to the ticket office on Saturday, explain what has happened, show proof of my purchase. I can then be sorted out with a ticket. Absolute fiasco. There will be many fans on Saturday queueing to sort this mess instead of spending money in the club facilities.
