No need to panic, we just need to equal what already relegated Carlisle did tonight at Cheltenham on Saturday .. What could possibly go wrong?

Gerry for me too, DC firmly in 2nd. Although he was only manager for just over a year Denis Rofe had us playing the best Football and probably the best Rovers team I've seen. If he was appointed before the season instead of Martin Dobson we could very well of got promoted into the new Premier League. He maybe in my top 3. Great shout on Dennis Rofe, had some unbelievable results under him. Turning over a 3-1 first leg deficit against City at Ashton. Beating a Kenny Dalglish managed Blackburn, draws against Liverpool and Man City, away days at both plus Forest. I also think that the Trollope and Lawrence partnership is massively underrated by our fan base. Millennium Stadium and Wembley in the space of two months, beating City to get to the former, plus the cup run the following season, only time since the 50s to get to the FA Cup quarters. Agree with Dr F, the best pure footballing team I’ve seen was David Williams, if play offs existed we’d have made them in both seasons he was in charge. For sheer will to win it would be Gerry Francis and for man management DC. Sorry, couldn't resist ..

Rovers 3 City 0 , then Blackpool away. The best times as a Gashead EVER . Nobody can argue with this. Think we only lost once after January to Tranmere if my memory's correct.
I can't remember exactly how many points they were in front, but City were way clear of us at one point.
Great times indeed.
Absolutely the best

Ah, this is the thread where we're told not to celebrate the shy teds misfortunes, because they're miiiiles ahead of us 'on and off the pitch'. Some people even seem to revel in saying that. And some people are even suggesting we should feel sorry for them for missing out on Man U ? Whatever next, a shy ted on here asking for us to admit to their superiority? I hope they liquidate, and the rosy faced arrogant so and so goes bankrupt. Glorifies what the owner has achieved, yet after every defeat their own forum is in meltdown and its not only him out, its his boy, Tinnion, and Manning.. Get a point at Middlesbrough this weekend though and all is good in the world ... Strange creatures the Ted's

It can be done without spending bucketfulls of money.
Luton went from Non League to The Championship in 4 years, then only 2 years as a mid table Championship team before reaching the Play Offs 2 years on the trot. Now they're playing really exciting, attacking Football in The Premier League.
Mostly with players from their Non League/League 2 days and signings on free transfers.
Not only that but also in a ground with a smaller capacity than The Mem.
They have not only shown clubs like us how it's done but also clubs like Bristol City who have spunked loads just to stagnate as a middle of the road Championship club.
We shouldn't take any notice of that lot down the road, clubs like Luton are the benchmark we should be looking upto.
Not sure you'd call City stagnating when you look at their facilities? Selling players at a vast profit whilst remaining in the Championship seems a good business model, if it's not what the supporters want. Reinvesting some of that cash in their team would probably be a better business model. If we can't agree on stagnation perhaps we can revert to the default position of sleeping giant, those halfwits seem to embrace ...
