Chicken or Egg. Did he set it up to raise money for Nick or was that an after thought? That was my first thought when he announced it was for Nick. How much did he raise? How was that given to Nick? Do we get to see one of those big cheques?Have you witnessed any payments from the club to Nick ? No ? So why would Joey produce one when banks don't even issue cheque books anymore

Big believer in digging down. If we drop the pitch by 10 -15 metres, we could build something amazing that the locals couldn't complain about. I've been to other stadiums where the pitch is lower than ground level. and what would you do with 1,000's of Tonne's of Brown field soil you dig out ?

I have a feeling in my water works that a 1-0 home win with a Pen scored by Big John is on the cards today

Not bothered by signing free agents, just ex Ted ones that are injury prone and not exactly prolific in scoring. 42 in his last six years, that’s an average of seven a season. So I’ll keep my head where you suggested. 17 in 95 appearances for the sh** - doesn’t fill me with awe & wonder really . . . this is a reason why he is a free agent i guess if he had 40 in 95 appearences he would have been signed up by some other plastic football team

How does this differ from what would be a 'proper' stand? no concrete? It looks a lot more substantial than what I thought it would be. Interesting how long it is taking to go up. Even with planning permission would they have been able to build this in the window before the first game. Is it about a month they have been building it? Still looks a long way off completion. A temporary structure is one that can be taken down i.e. bolted together, so to make it permeant you remove the bolts and weld them together

Its clear to me that our new owners are here just to asset strip the club and have know interest in developing the club because you can find nothing good about them on the internet............. thats the only conclusion i can come to by your statements Wes and i fear for our club Just because Wes can’t find out anything on his laptop sat in his bedroom means naff all , also calling him the takeaway fella is pretty insulting. I have just as much faith in Wes ability to find out this information as i do in Bristol Post's original article about the fruit loop stadium, yet people are taking that article as the truth and running with it

Pirate I'm not sure what programme article you are looking at but it says he is director of Kazma sporting club and also lists all the business the real estate company has completed. Sorry I don't know how to upload the article. Mr Asaad Al-Benwan is Chairman of Kasma SC and Mr Salem Al-Abkal, Mr Meshal Al-Hamad (Meshal Al-Hassan), Mr Yousef Bu Skandar, Mr Omar Al-Mulla, Mr Abdulmohsen Al-Bahar, Mr Bader Al-Kharafi and Mr Waleed Al-Yaqout are directors of the club, but once again our mystery takeaway fella is hard to find in relation to any directorship role. I thought maybe he could be found on the list for the clubs Governing Council or Club Committee, but again isn't amongst the names. Kasma SC Directors - kazmasc.com/%d9%85%d8%ac%d9%84%d8%b3-%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%a5%d8%af%d8%a7%d8%b1%d8%a9-2/I know it was written Al Elmam "developed various projects, including multi-story group housing, residential townships, shopping malls, office buildings, hotels and restaurants", but that is what is basically written word for word on their elmamrealestate.com/index.html website too, but I'm still left without anything of substance to confirm. I just want to marvel at their expertise and see what these "projects that would have cost multi millions" (according to daniel300380) look like and what we can expect from them moving forward. So far what we have seen doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. Its clear to me that our new owners are here just to asset strip the club and have no interest in developing the club because you can find nothing good about them on the internet............. thats the only conclusion i can come to by your statements Wes and i fear for our club

How come? It might be funny to you but that’s because you’ve never knowingly uttered a true word on here and wouldn’t see truth if was stood in front of you emblazoned in neon lights. Clap, clap happy clap. To quote a famous Moderator on here... "attack the post not the poster" Your post in my eyes has all the hallmarks of a person deluded with the whole club and i do wonder why you support Bristol Rovers FC if you feel so bad about the club, i find it funny that a fan could be so upset with our Stadium History yet watch the Rovers week in week out.... i'm assuming you do watch Rovers....

I wouldn't be surprised if UWE was a better offer than the FM. I just don’t buy and have never bought that UWE wasn’t the best opportunity this FC has ever had to build a fantastic facility in its heartland that would take it to another level. When Wael Al Qadi and his family took over they took all of momentum out of that fantastic opportunity, they didn’t get the historic struggles we had had or the journey from losing our ground of 100 years to play in another city to eventually struggle back to share with the Rugby club. They didn’t get or care also that there had been numerous failed schemes from Mangotsfield to Stoke Gifford to Severnside. It has the feel that when they took over they had little interest in UWE. Wael fooled us and Higgs, he was less than honest with everyone. I am angry with Higgs for his atrocious agreement with Sainsbury’s and in his rage at being outwitted nearly taking us to bankruptcy and then having to sell to any old chancer at a desperate discount. I am angry also with Wael because having then bought Higgs out in what he described as ‘an unbelievable deal’ he deceived us, he chucked in the bin our greatest ever opportunity. He didn’t chuck it away because it was a bad deal for BRFC. No, he sacked it off because he neither had the capital or the backing of his family to do it. He never intended to buy a big football club which would require major investment or create one either and nor does he now. Funniest post so far

350 fans were housed in the SW stand last year. The view was reasonable in spite a total of 6 pillars and leg room better than the West, East and South Stands (I have tried them all). The new SW stand only has 2 main end pillars. So the view is going to be significantly better. Similarly the the number of pillars in the new South stand will be substantially less than the old tent. So yes no pillars is the ultimate unobstructed view, but both these new stands will be a massive improvement on what we had and can be considered as being permanent. They are certainly not temporary structures. They will be permanent when they remove the bolts and weld the joints together

Wael doesn't deserve the level of disrespect he gets. Personally don't think the FM is dead in the water its probably at a crucial stage of financial negotiation and we are trying to get some leverage using media outlets to get a better position. The new shareholders are experts in this field hence why Wael has got them on board to try and get a stadium over the line. Until the club make a statement saying its off and are exploring other options I still believe it has a chance. Playing devils advocate have we found a better option? What proof and evidence do you have that "the new shareholders are experts in this field"? What proof and evidence do you have that they are NOT experts in this field

Good point well made I would much rather have a beer at the Mem pre-match even if it cost a bit more than up the road but it takes so bloody long to get served but that’s probably the same at the majority of clubs with small stadiums? The level of service from the staff in the food concessions is appalling. Mainly students who don’t give a stuff - why does it take 3 people to serve up a pre-heated pasty in a cashless operation? I can probably answer that myself - one to turn around and pick up the pasty, one to type the price on to the machine and one to stand idly by checking Facebook on their phone. If you pay peanuts you get monkeys....as reflected in our management structure

I doubt the arena will go ahead as was planned because it is based upon over 100 very large gigs per year. There are not many artists able to attract such large attendances. There is also competition from Trashton and festivals during the summer months. There is also going to be a new 5k capacity venue next to Trashton. Could the Brabazan hangers be made into a stadium? No

Time to return to your 6 fingered friends south of the river But have any of your multiple planning teasers from your 'friends' ever had any substance of any kind? I'm thinking 'no'. Bit like our owners then

The Mayor Knows South Gloustershire council are desperate to get Rovers new stadium and don't want a major development lost to them TFL said over 2 years ago that a stadium was possible on the site but had no approach from Rovers up to that point Ah good. More bollox from you, was wondering when this would happen Time to return to your 6 fingered friends south of the river

“The Mayor’s Office is trying to keep the deal alive”. Sounds as desperate to keep us involved in the stadium deal as the Peterborough United Head of Football Operations Liz Elsom was in helping us to try and complete the JCH deal. 😆 When the mystery takeaway owners rocked up I could see this a mile off, but nothing surprises me with this circus of a club anymore and as always I'll believe it when I'm sat in it. One disappointment after another and sadly when it comes to the crunch we are found wanting. Again. The Mayor Knows South Gloustershire council are desperate to get Rovers new stadium and don't want a major development lost to them TFL said over 2 years ago that a stadium was possible on the site but had no approach from Rovers up to that point
