That was my point if Burn isn't good to dislodge this season's two CB's, when we're "only" going to finish just inside the top 10, is he going to be good enough for a team which is, hopefully, aiming for a top 6 finish, he didn't look particularly strong at Coventry although at least we'd kept a clean sheet before he went off injured.
Our defence in the second half of the season has been good enough for a top 6 finish though. Since the first game Sweeney and Lumley both played, we have conceded 16 goals in 17 games which is certainly good enough. It's our defence in the first half of the season and our lack of attacking threat in the second half that has cost us a top 6 finish unfortunately.
Conceded 3 at Walsall, Bury, Gills and 4 at P'boro. So not sure about that although I think we need better in midfield to keep the ball better and help the defence out when out of possession.
The start of the last three seasons have been seen our poorest form over the entire season.
I don't know if our poor starts are linked to when new players come in?
you might have a point, but generally we've had settled squads over that last 2 seasons.
Agree with Dins, let's get 3 quality players in early - Keeper, CB and Forward. Additional players to strengthen squad can come later. The trouble is - we want Sweeney and Lumley - but may have to wait a long time to get those deals done, if at all
I didn't know Brown made any bad comments before the game about you guys. Not very good if that was the case.
Brown is a real character that has completely split our fan base as to whether they like him or not. I think everyone respects the job he has done for us but don't necessarily like him. Last season he was practically begging for the Bolton job and openly said countless times which I found ever disrespectful. He was also doing way too much media work, even on the mornings before our own games but that has stopped this season and it has been much better.
Even if we did manage to sneak in the play-offs I don't think we will go up. Too out of form and too many injury's.
That's a good point. On form you've got to think Bradford v Fleetwood in a Wembley final. I think, of all the teams in the playoffs and trying to get in that Bradford have been the best I've seen, so would like them to go up but you have to say that Rossler has done a brilliant job with the Codmen grinding out win after win.

Need 5 top quality players
Bob Harris might look good on the ball, but don't rate his defending - look at the highlights of the Posh game. Needs to improve if Rovers are going to keep him.
Not sure if this has been mentioned before. Does anyone know what type of players they are?
Five scholars have now been offered the opportunity of joining the pro ranks next season and we offer our congratulations to those who will be joining the pro ranks next season, namely Connor Jones, Lewis Ellington, Luke Russe, Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist and Sam Blake.
Not sure paying a transfer fee for a player to replace Lines would be DC's priority this summer, goalie, CH & Strikers are the priorities.
Sercombe, Lines and O,Clarke playing in the same midfield would roast most other midfields in L1. Also Linesy needs competition in a 2.
I genuinely feel that Lines is not someone who should be an automatic on our team sheet next season. For me it's Ollie and a new signing. Lines can make a contribution but hasn't got it to be a regular starter anymore ( if we are aiming for promotion next season.
If we lose the 3 biggest teams, attendance wise, and most likely playing budget,Sheffield Utd, Bolton & Bradford how can Div 1 be any tougher next season?
I can't see Blackburn or Rotherham being particularly strong and Wigan are hardly a club to fear.
I can see next season's top 6 being the teams who miss out on the Play Off's this season plus P'boro and MK Dons if the latter get their acts together over the summer.
I'd expect Donnie, Plymouth and Pompey to all make top 10 next season - all have good/big fan bases for L1. I bet their fans and owners will certainly be aiming for promotion. Let's hope we get some fire power to be up there with them !
These have obviously been thought up by someone with no knowledge of football fans. Some of the best games I have been to have been hard fought 0-0 draws. One of the attractions of football is how relatively rare goals are which makes them that much more special, these morons will want it to be like basketball
Disagree with you. Although you can have the odd excellent 0 -0 game. Goals and saves are what people talk about and love to see - we want goalmouth action and we want to see the net bulge. More should be done to incentivise goals. Attacking players level/just ahead at offside decisions should get the benefit of doubt, more penalties for shirt grabbing and holding ( it ain't rugby !!)
