2-1 Gas win with JCH on the score sheet.
This is a fantastic opportunity to put some distance between us and the relegation zone given the way results went on our favour early today.
Let's do this!

I was sitting there at half time thinking about what changes we could make to get an edge but looking at the bench there was no one there that would have really changed much. Sincs for OC perhaps but I don't believe it would have made much difference. Upson was one of our better players on the pitch and the only bit of creativity that we had in midfield. Parts for JC would not have added much more going forward and would have weakened us defensively I think. We missed THD yesterday and our other creative players such as Lines and Rodman are missing.
I think the simple fact is that we had our best available players on the pitch and adopted the best formation but we were beaten by a better side.
I take alot of encouragement though by the fact that we actually ran the runaway leaders quite close and were good enough to at least get a draw on another day.

This. Unfortunately, Coughlan doesn't seem to want creative players, preferring to have a team of battlers in his own mould. That's all well and good as we are in a battle, but if you don't create, you don't score goals. It needs that balance but letting Bennett and to a point, Matthews, go and not playing Lines doesn't bode well for me. Bennett, Matthews & Lines were all poor under DC it's not all down to GC. Plus getting Bennett off the wage bill may well have paid for JCH's wages Not to mention the fact that both Bennett and Matthews were both too lightweight for the battle. It's going to be an interesting summer transfer window whether we stay up or not tbh. I'm sure quite a few contacts are up at the end of the season. Let's hope GC has more targets in mind in the mould of JCH and Ogogo.

Going out tonight on a work do with clients and bosses. I would much rather stay in and watch the gas on ifollow to be honest.
I'll be secretly keeping tabs on the phone at the dinner table, I'm just a little concerned that I won't be able to contain myself if (or should I say when!) we score, god knows what might happen if we win the game!
This could end really badly if I have a few too many ciders and start singing goodnight Irene in a packed posh restaurant. Queue P45!
Well done to all the travelling support, be the 12th man as usual and help GC and the lads bring us home some points.

Just really hope we have him on a decent length contract. DC always seemed to like his players on short 2 year deals but when it comes to JCH I sincerely hope it's longer. Would hate to see him leave next year.
Credit to GC for his January transfers, both have made a massive difference to our performances. If he can replicate that in the summer by bringing in a few more of the same quality then we could be on for a really good season.

I didn't go to Plymouth last Saturday, but I did listen on the radio. Sounded like Rovers didn't play that well but enough to hold the Muff. However when looking at the Sky Sports video Rovers scored 3 delightful goals. Sorry Craig but it was a beauty of an own goal. Yet again our best forward had a certain goal saved by the Muff keeper with a save of the season if not the decade. Tom does bring out the best in keepers when his shot is on target, better that all those hits on the post and bar though. The Muff goal was down to dreadful defending when allowing their player acres of space on the edge of the box. So the point of the post is this. No highlights showing The Muff shots on target, were there any? Rovers scored two great goals v The Muff goals were rank poor defending and an own goal. The Muff manger said they were robbed. Funny old game football? Well actually Rovers scored 4 delightful goals as from the highlights I am pretty sure Nichols went across the line.

Think we can get something here, we owe them big time for being robbed down there last season and I think the lads, GC & CH will all be fired up for the battle.
I reckon 2-1 gas win with JCH & Sercs scoring.

Looking forward to this one immensely. We had a superb first half down there 12months ago, Lines & Ellis finding the net but that was all undone with some farcical referring in the second 45. Two very very soft penalties for them (1 missed, 1 scored) and Harrison being dragged down on a last man challenge, to which we didn’t even get a free kick let alone the stonewall red card. Adams antagonising the away end after the ref had already left the pitch, was the icing on the cake of a very bad (and bitterly cold) afternoon. Time to put that right with a 3-0 win. I remember it well....and the tosser of a Muff fan who ran onto the pitch goading us away fans which sparked a mini riot! Unfortunately I can't go this time due to a family commitment I can't get out of but this is probably one of the games at the top of my list that I want us to get a win. Let's hope GC and the boys can keep the fantastic away form going and bring us back 3 points. UTG!

Facts. Family terrace. 1 adult + 2 under 16's £15.91/game. N and W terrace 1 adult + 2 under 16's £23.25/game W terrace 1 adult + 2 under 16's £25.65/game. Note. Under 11's ST's are significantly cheaper for the terrace areas but the FT is the only area offering an inclusive price for 1 adult + 1 or 2 children. I would suggest the FT offers very good value compared to the rest of the ground. Also there are family friendly options for seating too: Family stand: 1 adult + 2 under 16's = £16.91/game. Only £1 more than the FT. South & South West stands: 1 adult + 2 under 16's = £18.78/game. This represents incredible value imo. So for me the OP is simply wrong, families are not being picked on with price hikes.

As they have brought back family saver tickets I work out that I will be saving £20 if I get the same seats for me and my lad this year, how is that hitting families in their pockets?

To add to my post above.......... Bonham as last night, came for everything and it’s cleer now Locks and Craig and the rest know what he’s coming for. The whole back 5 are in unity. The free headers from set pieces have stopped as well in the main and I’m sure being an ex defender Cogs has worked on this in training. Does anyone see how many headers Ogogo wins and how good was Upson last night and in front of the defence?! To simply praise just the defence is unfair, Upson is doing a good job in front of them and we can’t forget we are playing 4 central midfielders now in front of them and it’s working. Even Rodman can defend. Praise must go to Locks and Craig though, they have to talk to Upson and listen to Bonham, if we stay up which we will these two have turned the corner and will be a main reason we have improved in 2019 It's right that the back line and GK are given praise but as you say we are defending as a team, I was also particularly impressed by Sercombe, Nichols and JCH last night who all tracked back at times when the Gills were coming forward into our half.

Not really sure what the issue is here, it's not a new one. Of course it's unfortunate but Locks is a player that comes with this role. It's pretty obvious he's become a squad regular for Wales in the last 18 months and good on him. It's a compliment to both Locks and Rovers. Exactly! Calling for someone called up for his country to stay and play for us in the league. I wonder if similar calls of how unfair it is, would be made if he was injured or suspended for a game. Good luck to him I say, if we have to rely on one player we really are desperate. That's a good point actually, when it comes to injuries and suspensions I would say Locks is well below the level you would expect a player to be at. It's obvious from his interviews how much he gets out of being in and around the Wales squad, it can only do him good in the long term imo and if he benefits then so does BRFC. Yes there is a short term impact with him missing some games but that creates an opportunity for others to show what they can do and with Locks and Craig being a solid partnership at the back all season there hasn't been much of an opportunity for anyone. I would really like to see Kilgour be given the chance, he seems to be in good form from his loan spell so it would be good to see what he can do.

After UWE falling through I now believe a redeveloped Mem is in fact the best and most deliverable option for us.
- Has low planning risk as evidenced by the fact that we have previously achieved planning consent. - Can be done in phases avoiding the need for us to find a temporary home and allows us to expand in stages as the club and it's support grows. - A community stadium would be something the community would support and if done in the right way could provide reasonable non match day revenue to the club. - The location is good (not perfect) but at least it's in the city and surrounded by other facilities and most importantly dense residential properties which can provide the potential for expanding the fan base.
Just wish we would stop faffing around and get on with it tbh. City eventually learnt the hard way and whatever we think of them I think we would all jump at the chance to have a stadium of that size, quality and facilities at the Mem.
For me the Mem feels like our home so let's just accept that and turn it into something we can be proud of!

Thanks for the report. It was another gritty away performance from the team.
I'm just hoping that THD was rested as he must of covered some serious distance over the last couple of weeks. Sounded like Kelly did a good decent job tbh but we need THD back asap.
I really really really want us to win at Plymouth, we owe them big time for what happened there last season!

It quite simple imo, if this team can continue their current form until the end of the season and save us from the drop then I wouldn't expect a big clear out. If their form drops off and we go down then I would think we will see more wholesale changes.
Based on the current form since GC took over this squad are definitely a top half side with potential to reach the play offs, with a few tweaks here and there we could have a right good go next season.
In either event though I would keep both OC and Sincs. Both have their strengths and weaknesses but are good enough for L1 imo so it follows that they are therefore also good enough for L2 and were part of the promotion winning side so they have what it takes to get beck up.
OC is gas through and through, one of our own etc and I disagree that he's been inconsistent this season, he's actually also currently our joint top scorer.
Sincs is probably not on a massive wages anyway and is unique in his ability to harass the sh*t out of the opposition from whichever position he is played in. He also brings much more than his game to the club, I can see a role for him in the future with BRFC. He is such a gas head now that he has even changed his appearance so he looks like a pirate!

I personally think that now is not the time to be considering who to keep and who to let go but certainly I think to have a really big clearout would be a disaster and we should as fans take into consideration that since DC left our record has been pretty good and over the whole season our defensive record has been probably the best for years so to suggest getting rid of any of our present defenders is ridiculous. The same goes for the midfield and forwards. Clearouts are very dangerous and much better to just make alterations slowly with a bit of fine tuning. If we manage to stay up it will prove that the group of players we have are mainly good enough to keep and just need a small amount of good signings to approach next season with greater aspirations. Agree with this. I actually believe that DC made this exact mistake, I think he made too many changes too soon and it may have unbalanced the squad and messed with what was quite a settled team.

Well done GC and the lads, brilliant performance. 40 points now, out of the relegation zone and still got a game in hand. The bottom half of this division is insanely close, 5 points separate 21st and 13th places. UTG! Thats what scary! With the run we have been on we should be starting to pull away, but others are winning. Its almost guaranteed at least one side from above us right now will go down come may. Let's hope it's more than one!!!
