Just sacked after an 8 match unbeaten start to the season, in Saudi! We do love a bad boy, what about replacing Barton with Fowler?

How lucky are we to have such a supportive and progressive owner, financing and building our club for a long term, sustainable and successful future, at every level. I hope he can persuade / keep some of the star players for next season, because we need that stability for the next push.

I sincerely hope that Wael gets his payback because he has given this club so much and it has returned so little for his investment. He now knows what being a real Gas Head is about! Your commitment is enthusiastically received and extremely reassuring to the fans - it should not let the players breathe a sigh however.
If we had an established striker we would not be in this position. We have too many defenders who have not defended!
I will be back at the mem, and I cant wait, regardless of which league that might be.

He is a football manager, not a magician; give the man a chance. Our last match we conceded 4, PT has not come in and decked a great run of form!

I like him because he likes cricket.. i’m simple Do you think he will sit in the side of the pitch, watching the game, making daisy chains whilst he plays Brandon at Silly Mid Off?

"attack the post not the poster"......... You are one of the reasons why many people don't come on here and post because your attitude towards fellow fans of Bristol Rovers football club, just because you think you know something about football makes you feel more important than us lesser members of this site Your post above explains it all to sensible people You obviously don't know me very well then. I’ve never had a superiority complex and would never "feel more important" than "lesser members of this site". There are no lesser members of the site, We are all gasheads with an opinion and that is what makes this place and the game great. I might over step the mark on occasions, probably did today, but I've always tried to be as civil as possible where possible, despite often being called out for this and that on numerous occasions by various posters. If I've offended you or anyone else then I'm sorry. Group hug? I am trying to catch up on this lovely Paul Tisdale post and have to read this god awful simmering, bickering, boring argument. I don’t know either of you and I don’t want to offend you, but could you do us all a favour..........meet in a boxing ring and sort it out? Paul Tisdale, welcome to the club, please be successful. You have some nice hat arrangements, wear lovely clothes, have managed some football clubs and appear to be a good communicator. That is a significant improvement on our last two managers. You have made me happier than last Saturday.

There is much talk that he was a good coach, I cannot judge that. He seemed to me uncharismatic, lacking in any tactical guile, constantly searching for excuses and blaming officials, no command or authority, and from the first day he walked onto the pitch at the mem he was like a rabbit in the headlights. He was supported by the board and given time when they knew we were safe from relegation. He was given a free hand in signing some great players, of which we all thought superb. He has been given plenty of time this season to make it work. I don’t know whether he is nice man, unlucky or just unfortunate but he has been given every opportunity, the backing he received was exceptional. Thank god we have Wael, he tries new ideas but he is decisive. He has decided to make our club strong and good and Ben Garner was not able to execute is part of that. I trust the Board to keep trying to find the right man!

this thread just shows what a bunch of arseholes are on here. here is a man who saved us from Division 2, brought in some very good players and one of them makes over a million pound profit and he loses his job. Not withstanding you don't know the circumstances he left us under. Ask Starnes although he might wont tell you the truth You don't know whether he saved us from Division 2, he might have done, but no one can ever prove it. He came in December 18 and there were quite a few months before the season ended! I do know some good players came in under his management - agreed. One of them may have made us £1m profit, but who actually bought him in? I do know how he treated Chris Lines - it was a considered humiliation of a great servant to the club. I do know that his actions post Ipswich were terrible. I do know he criticised Wael and suggested that no investment would come through....debt free with a training ground now! I do know he left his job at Rovers and lost his job at Mansfield. This arsehole is only commenting on what he knows!

He said he was worried about always being the bridesmaid and never the bride. He did well for us when we needed a plan but his interpersonal skills were shocking and his total lack of thought for others shameful. I feel absolutely no upset at his demise as I think of the way Chris Lines was treated by him. Clarke and Menayese made their choices, Chris Lines was not given a choice!

£1.25m for a goalscorer to our divisional rivals who's chairman recently openly stated he was worth more than that and to a club who are reportedly set to sell their striker with a similar record for a fee in the region of £5m? Pants pulled down again if you ask me. How long does Toney have left on his contract though? We risked having a striker who wanted to leave going for nothing. I think we've avoided having our pants pulled down. I think we have had our trousers pulled down a little, only to reveal that we are wearing a thong - very exotic, mysterious, alluring and quite a surprise and will give everyone a shock. That is Bristol Rovers!

Really sorry to see JCH go but fully understand the reasons. Thanks for your efforts in the quarters JCH. I just hope they have the same success with him as we have from the two attacking players we have signed from them in recent years!

I loved DC. I did not love GC, in fact I wanted to dislike him because of his handling of Chris Lines. Just when he had earned my respect, he became an ex manager. I will love BG - he is going to be immense. Trouble is I don’t know whether I am ac/dc or LGCBT Do you sit or stand to pee...? UTG! I am retromingent - ha ha look that one up

JCH was not a prolific striker until he came to the Mem. GC unlocked his potential at 25. Maybe Ben Garner can offer a way to unblock whatever obstacle is in Tom Nichols way, I hope so because Tom is clearly a gifted player.
