Thanks for this BJ....much needed. I read a post last night, now thankfully 'gone', which couldn't resist making snide swipes at another poster. These sorts of posts tell you more about the poster than the target!

'It was stated openly in front of the AGM that the money was given. No whispering, it was said out loud. Keep digging, and I may give you a few clues on the way. Of course, you could ask Adam. He was sat next to him.'
Saying something happened doesn't make it true.

This hasn’t yet been answered and something I posted on the Masters thread. There was a £5k gift in 2006 which was about when masters joined the board and also a grant for £6k I believe, but that didn’t come directly from Ken. There are no further gifts in the years after either. So where has this 10k figure come from as its not recorded in any company accounts. I spotted Philton on the other forum hint towards this not necessarily being that true so I looked into it and found the same as you.... KM approached a number of local schools to subscribe for use of Community Trust activities and access to a rather poor learning on-line tool for Literacy and Maths which he had developed. Schools were asked to pay a termly amount which, I believe, he then matched to the tune of £10,000.........apparently!

What I want to know is where are the plans for future of the club? I want this club moving with the times? What is the latest? Recent worldwide events should have taught us that:
- the worst can happen
- plans should be drawn up in case the worst happens.
I don't claim to be ITK, or to fully understand the ins and outs of the Share Scheme. What I can see is a club rapidly disintegrating with a possible outcome of an owner pulling up sticks and calling in debts. For all the rumours that come and go there seems to be no solid evidence that there are buyers in the wings, especially ones who could clear all the debts and invest enough to move the club forward.
I fear that we are witnesses to the early death throes of our club.

Anyone on here a representative of the SC? If so, genuine question: how can you dare to call yourselves representatives of supporters? Absolutely pathetic witch hunt because they're in denial of losing their legal battle against the club. This is more embarrassing than Higgs reporting Wycombe to the EFL when we got relegated. If the SC are of the mind to report the owners to the EFL, surely the SC should be calling an EGM and discussing it with it's members Agreed, but you can bet it would only be open to SC members and not the huge majority of fans!

All this when we don’t know when the next ball will be kicked. The way things are looking with our club you could replace 'when' with 'if'!

Wow! I've just read this. When did we last have a local journalist coming off the fence like this, and landing with a huge thump? Well done sir! Interesting to note that towards the end he states that 'as of today' KM is no longer chair of the trustees of the Community Trust.

Something to keep an eye on is if this has any ramifications for the Community Trust. If I remember correctly it was the previous board, in particular Nick Higgs, who asked KM to lead the Community Trust. This he has done since, keeping 'power' very close; chairing all meetings, arranging agendas and taking minutes. Back under the old regime Toni Watola would attend meetings and 'look after' the finances. So back then the link with the BoD was strong. More recently I understand that Steve Hamer was an attendee at meetings. Then there is the matter of the Study Centre, housed in a room under the Dribuild stand and used by many students. I'm only guessing but I wouldn't be surprised if TG would love to have that space to use to generate funds for the club. So, watch this space.....

A little light relief...........
I usually stand on the open East Terrace, leaning on the top barrier. The usual people are there match after match, and we stand in roughly the same places, moving left or right if someone's missing or a few extra friends have turned up. A few months ago I wasn't feeling too good and it was pouring down with rain, so I decided to move along to the partly covered area behind the team benches. I got there really early, found a barrier to lean on (which I need to) behind the away bench and started to look around. I must have been the first there as there was no-one
to my left and the barriers in front and behind were clear. I then heard a voice behind me, saying, ' I stand there.' My first reaction was to say, 'That's nice!' It turned out to be a lady, possibly in her 50/60s, so I decided to be a gent and moved along.
Has this happened to anyone else, or how do you feel if you turn up and someone else, perhaps with mates, is on the part of the terrace where you usually stand?

It's no good stopping the shaking of hands if players are then free to gob, spit and snot all over the pitch for the duration of the game.

Last night was a good performance and and a very good result. However I'd be a hypocrite and fickle and now said all's well and we have had a glimpse of the future. It reminds me of the poor teacher who unexpectedly pulls out of the bag an outstanding lesson when he/she's being assessed or O.F.S.T.E.D. appears. So well done Ben on getting things right last night. Now let's see a sustained improvement for the rest of the season.

Elections coming up soon! Yes, Thursday 7 May: and at least two of the candidates propose doing away with the position! So he may be after votes but if he doesn't get in it's all for nothing anyway.

Many on here, including myself, have consoled ourselves with the thought that the points gained under GC have given us a cushion to fall back on.
10 games to go, 30 points to play for. Forget Bolton and Southend, they're as good as gone.
Tranmere are 13 points behind us, with a game in hand; so that could be 10.
We have to play all 4 teams currently in the play-off zone; Oxford, Peterborough, Sunderland and Portsmouth, and chuck in Ipswich as well!
I'm trying to see where we will pick up points playing the way we are. If I had to bet I think we'll be OK, though for a team which was within a whisker of being second not so long ago that's not good enough.
To be sure of being safe we need to ditch the BG experiment now. It was brave but it hasn't worked and shows no sign of doing so. To be frank anything would be better. Put a combination of Hargreaves/ Maher/ Mansell in charge now until the end of the season.
