If he was a little less selfish he would have had more longevity in the game. Doing the little bit extra unfortunately kept getting him injured in the later stages. Fantastic team player for the time and deserved many a mom Yeah the way he put himself about he was always likely to get injured more than most but he was dedicated and played to his strengths and he had superhuman stamina and energy.

I couldn't work out how he always got man of the match at our home games in the conference season. Because he broke up the oppositions play, worked hard , didn’t give the ball away, created goals, scored a few too, had the longest beard and was regularly our best player. Even 2 years later in league 1 the opposition supporters fans forums were pretty much unanimous in that Sinclair was our most important player and they’d love to have him at their club.

Outstanding player for us. Those players that win the ball and then play the simple pass to keep possession after they’ve won it are often underrated. I feel we’ve signed a similar player in January in conteh . All good sides have one of those. Even arguably the best club side of all time that Barcelona side had buesquets he was a world class version of Sinclair. Or perhaps Sinclair was a bearded version of Makelele , buesquets and Kante rolled in to one.

Best goal he scored for us was away to Vale.Suspect that goal (we did score four) swayed them to buy him.He also scored a cracker away to Exeter but overall a big disappointment. Some managers would pay good money for defenders who could clear a ball as far as Loft’s first touch. Commendable work rate and seemed a decent chap but not a very good footballer unfortunately. Typical big league 2 centre forward . If we hadn’t won promotion he may well have played an important part the following season but not good enough for league 1. But as you said , always have it everything workrate was never a problem.

If Brasil play well and win perhaps we’ll hear their fans sing “ Rovers… it’s just like watching Rovers ..” At least spell the name of the country right. It is with an " Z " not an " s " Not if you’re Brasilian or Portuguese. My fathers side are Portuguese and many of us live in Brasil. Over here it’s never spelt with a Z. In England it is but whether I’m in Brasil or the Uk or anywhere for that matter for me it’s an S. But no offence taken. Every days a school day.

Perhaps we'll hear a few nice loud renditions of "You're not fit to make our shirt" aimed at Nike If Brasil play well and win perhaps we’ll hear their fans sing “ Rovers… it’s just like watching Rovers ..”

Looking forward to this, was at the England v Brasil game at Wembley when Lineker tried a fancy penalty and blew the chance to level Bobby Charlton’s record. England v Brasil is always a tasty tie even if it’s a friendly.

A thread for all things international this weekend Wales v Finland play off tonight and then Luca hopefully starting for the U21's tomorrow (live on S4C online) Are we all supporting Finland then? One because we don’t want the other home nations to have any success (replicating their thoughts towards England) and two, Finland are “one of our own” after basing themselves at The Quarters 😁 My wife and all her family are welsh, our daughters half welsh and our second home is in the Gower, we spend as much time in wales in the summer months as Bristol so I’ve got to admit Wales have become a bit of a second team for me. I also enjoy watching them as they’re usually underdogs and generally show a lot of fighting spirit.

I’m just glad he’s not involved with the club anymore and he now seems to be one of many bizarre characters that fall under the term internet influencer. What a strange world we live in these days. Thinking back to his time at the club feels like a surreal dream with a few highs a few lows and lots of stuff that we wouldn’t normally expect from a football manager which to be honest for me were mostly lows too . Strange bloke.

So “ yes obviously mid table is most likely “ was more of a prediction in that sentence than relegation or play offs. What position are we in currently ? To call that post a prediction that we’ll finish in the play offs is bizarre to say the least. No it's worse than that, you completely bottled making a prediction and argued with my "clearly a mid table finish". Egg firmly on ya face socrates 😛 You either need help or you need to be in bed soon for school tomorrow either way I really can’t be arsed with any more discussion with you. My 10 year old daughter is more grown up than you are. Thankfully there isn’t anyone else on here as childish and irritating as you and this forum is generally a good place to discuss and debate all things Rovers. Take care and try not to drink any bleach.

I don’t buy that at all, there’s 54 points left to play for we could still make a push for the play offs or end up in a relegation scrap. Yes obviously mid table is most likely but it’s not clearly a mid table finish at all. Time to burst the bubble. As we know, on our day we can beat the best. For some strange reason, I just feel we are beginning a set of results that will soon fire the hope of all of us. Time for a clean sheet and a few goals. 2-0 to the gas. We need a run of 3 or 4 wins in a row to kick start any hope of a late play off push. We beat Oxford - great , if we can beat Exeter today then follow that up with a win at home on Tuesday then I’ll start to believe we can do it as that would most likely put us about 6-10 points off of 6th. Anything other than 6 points from those two games and those tiny play off hopes well and truly gone. A bump for GGMI .

Did I predict play offs ? Pretty sure I had no idea at the beginning of the season where we’d finish I usually say somewhere between 24th and 1st. No, worse than that you said it during the season when you got your numbers in a muddle. I said it then and I'll say it again, play offs my arse.. I didn’t predict we’d make top 6. I said pre Fleetwood and Burton that if we won both we’d have a good chance but that if we don’t then play off hopes will be gone. You really are stupid aren’t you ? Tell you what as you like going back and bumping posts from others why don’t you run off and find it . Jog along now.

Most on here talking like we’re in free fall. We’re 16th in the last 8 form table. Saturday was bad but I don’t think this season has been that bad as our league 1 seasons go. I want promotion as much as the next Gashead but we changed manager this season and aren’t in a relegation scrap it could and has been so much worse. Have you listened to MT's post match interview or read the basis of what he said, if so, then doesn't that suggest some (or even most?) of the players may have "checked" out for this season? Looking at our 8 remaining fixtures every game is against a team fighting for promotion or to avoid the drop, if our players don't check back soon in we could well be in free fall come May. Ifs, buts and maybes we’ve got no idea what the future holds. I’m talking about what’s happened this season so far not what might happen.

Haha clearly got the wrong end of the stick there then 🤣. Apologies Milton 👍 Haha Socrates, no worries. Glad you’re still on board the pirate ship, to be fair you took on a tough one today it was never going to be easy. That’s probably how Taylor feels about taking on this squad, I bet he can’t wait until the window opens.

Bye then. A mid table finish having sacked that mental case with us in 17th at the time will be a good finish. If the board had signed the wrong manager we’d be in the relegation places now. Taylor inherited an injury prone unbalanced side just before the winter months kicked in and has got a better points to game ratio than Barton ever had for us in this division. Taylor has done ok , not great but he has done ok the league table doesn’t lie. I’m happy to give him the summer window and at least 10 games into next season before I really judge him on what he’s done so far and what I feel that he’s going to do at our club. Barton inherited a similar crappy squad in around the same position that Taylor has and took us down bottom that season of league 1. Patience is needed in my opinion but clearly you’ve washed your hands with it , shame as mid table league 1 is riding high compared to the last 25 years. I thought Milton was referring to starting the match day thread Haha clearly got the wrong end of the stick there then 🤣. Apologies Milton 👍
