Hey,all you dinosaurs out there! Why not move outside your comfort zone. Come and watch the Gasgirls on Sunday? You may be pleasantly surprised. At the very least it will give you a different team to moan about. Seriously, it would be good to see you there I would but I'll be running the line for a different women's team!

What did he think was going to happen? As a public figure no matter what someone has said about you, you can't accuse someone of what he accused Vine of, in writing, published in a public forum, without expecting to be sued. I'd take him to the cleaners if he made that accusation about me.

What is the difference, in tiers, between gas girls and the 82 lot ? Rovers Women are currently in the South West Regional League - Premier Division, tier 5. City Women are in the Womens Super League, tier 1. So 4 tiers at the moment - but assuming City are relegated to the Women's Championship and Rovers promoted to the Women's National League Division 1 - South west, it'll be down to 2 tiers.

I can't see the 13 pitches being full size. Why would we need them? Kids don't go to 11v11 until under 13s Can't see why would ever need more than: 2x 5 a side 2x 7 a side 2x 9 a side 7 x 11 a side for reference , Manchester City's training ground has 10 full size pitches, some of which are marked for smaller side formats. Liverpool's has 12. I chair a football club for 400 kids, we have 3 full size, 3 9v9, 2 7v7 and 2 5v5 Flipping heck...the 13 pitches was a joke, said tongue in cheek and theres no way you would get 13 pitches, a dome, a complex clubhouse and a load of housing on 30 acres of land. Hi, sorry, went over my head - and quite a few others on here too I think.

You think each of the 13 pitches will be of the highest possible standard, and each will need its own floodlighting, pavilion, fencing, equipment, environmental mitigation, roadway and car park? No . But I still think it’ll work out about 500k a pitch in total. Come back to me in 5 yrs and we’ll decide who was right . 😉 we'll see! Anyway, as I say. 13 pitches is ludicrous. St George's Park only has 12! 13 full sizes pitches would make it one of the largest training facilites in the country in terms of pitches, so I reckon some of those pitches must be smaller format.

13 pitches? I thought what was said was we currently use 5 of the 30 acres at present but expect to increase to 13? Acres, not pitches? That’s my notes, I may have misunderstood? 13 pitches were mentioned, because someone said 13 is an unlucky number and Abdullalatif jokingly said ok 11 then! Blimey glad you're not running the club A grass pitch is about £100k, possibly less if you are creating a few at once. A domed artificial pitch is £1million tops, and can be hired out when the club aren't using it. quick google at 2019 prices: *How much does it cost to build a natural turf pitch? A full-sized, natural grass sports pitch will cost £120,000 on average, however natural turf pitches can cost between £50,000 – £350,000 depending on the pitch specification, performance level and location. Pitch renovation generally costs between £15,000 – £20,000 for a full-sized annual pitch renovation. The main factors that will impact the overall pitch cost are: Size and dimensions of the pitch or pitches Scope of earthworks required Chosen drainage and irrigation systems Amount of sand required for amelioration into top soil Environmental mitigation methods Floodlighting, fencing and equipment requirements Additional work is also often required in the form of ancillary equipment (team shelters, pavilions, spectator areas) and civil engineering (access pathways, hard standings, roadways and car parks), so this may need to be factored into your costs. Please get in touch if you’d like an example of a detailed breakdown of project costs, or a quote on the cost of building a natural turf pitch for your needs.* Just have a look at the land those 13 pitches will be sited. That’s a LOT of work and costs. I’m sticking with 500k for decent standard pitches at the quarters . You think each of the 13 pitches will be of the highest possible standard, and each will need its own floodlighting, pavilion, fencing, equipment, environmental mitigation, roadway and car park?

Thinking about tonight’s claim that we’ll be spending 30-35m on the quarters creating 13 pitches and an indoor dome to make cat 1 academy and the stadium rebuild. Surely just the first part is going to cost £15 million (at least ) ? 500k a pitch at a guess plus the dome which must be at least a few million? Just the south stand was 3.1 M . Not sure the numbers stack up . Blimey glad you're not running the club A grass pitch is about £100k, possibly less if you are creating a few at once. A domed artificial pitch is £1million tops, and can be hired out when the club aren't using it.

Never understand this argument. The club paid for a pair of permanent stands, a pitch and a car park in 1996. Then let it rot. Don't deny that

Agreed, the fans that don't expect more and a board that won't develop us in the ways necessary with a modern football stadium, training ground will see us return to league 2, worse out of the football league again. I think the club paying for the first permanent structure for the club since they built the Tote End isn't a big ask. Never understand this argument. The club paid for a pair of permanent stands, a pitch and a car park in 1996.

We've also been Bristol Rovers for over a hundred years, surely time for a change there. What the hell is a Rover anyway? A car? A dog's name?
Also Gasheads. Surely with today's announcement about temperatures exceeding the 1.5 degree threshold, that has to go. Up the Windheads?

Hi all I joined as soon as I heard about Aguilera joining you lot on loan, because you have bagged a proper talent. My only concern would be him lifting his game in poor matches/conditions. Most Forest fans thought he'd be kept to play on matchday. Although only small in build, he's a tenacious player, and he'll pick up deep and drive you forward. The only thing doubtbid have is. Can he up his performance if his team mates around him aren't playing to their potential. Good luck for the rest of the season, and hopefully we do a job on city tonight. Lad's a baller. Stood out last night imo.

Pricing structure is odd but I can see why it's been done to maximise revenue. The EFL should introduce 20 is plenty campaign pyramid wide, completely unfair in today's economy to pay more than £20 for League 1 football. Problem is that today's economy means that the costs for clubs has undoubtedly increased massively over the last couple of year, since 20 is plenty was launched. I know it's League 1 football so should be a lot cheaper as a lesser product, but I can't imagine that the matchday cost per supporter attending is much different between League 1 and the Premier League - similar number of stewards/ticket checkers per attendee, electricity, water, VAT etc. The Premier League clubs will enjoy greater economies of scale than Rovers. £25 to stay alive?

Aaron Collins' message to our fans: "Gasheads, what a two-and-a-half years it has been. From scoring that screamer against Oxford in the FA Cup, to that 4-3 win away at Rochdale, and then making history with the 7-0 win on that final day - being a part of getting this club back to League One will live with me forever and I’ll never forget the feeling of being on top of that lamppost on Gloucester Road, celebrating with all of you Gasheads. Being named as League One Player of the Season 2022/23 was a special achievement, and I'm so grateful it was part of this incredible club. I couldn't have done it without the support of the Gasheads, and the noise you make, week in and week out. I will forever cherish the memories of playing in the blue and white quarters and hope one day I can be a part of the Gas family once again. Who knows what the future holds. I'd like to thank both the players and the staff who have been a part of my journey at Rovers. I've made friends for life, and have loved my time here. UTG Goodnight Irene. For now..." Blub

Don't know how much truth there was in it, but heard that Manchester United were scouting Simon Bryant (and Nathan Ellington) following the 2-2 draw in Lee Martin's testimonial. Bryant didn't play that night, but would later make his debut and become a regular at 16. This is true. I used to read the Sunday times back then and there was an article about the top 5 youngsters in the football league. Simon was in it and it referenced what you have just said. Brilliant player. Does a lot of kids coaching now, especially at Longwell Green

It's the law that if someone under 55 has to retire from their occupation due to ill health then they can access their private pension as if they are 55. I thought sports people could access pension pots earlier. While players who joined the scheme before 6 April 2006 can take their benefits from age 35, players joining after that date have a normal retirement age of 55. Pensions geek here. Finally my time to shine. Looking at the scheme booklet, players can only retire and take their benefits from the PFA pension scheme at age 55 or later... Unless they are unable to play due to physical or mental incapacity, in which case they can retire and take benefits at any time. In such a high risk business, god knows how the Trustees sort that out. After all, don't all players ultimately stop playing because they cannot play anymore due to physical or mental reasons? But as mentioned - since 2011 it's been a Money Purchase scheme, meaning that players have individual pots of money made up of contributions (which are a fixed amount and come from a levy on transfer fees), any contributions they decide to pay on top, and investment returns. So if they retire early, either they can make that last their lives, or they can buy an annuity from an insurance company. Either way, it would be stretched very thin. So looks to me that player's pensions are much less valuable than they used to be

"budget issues" It'll be interesting to see if MT agrees with having a No 2 in Hall who's clearly never going to play. Ward is currently no 2. Not sure why Hall came in, only explanation I could see was that it was assumed Belly would go in the summer and if Cox was injured we could bring in an emergency loan as we had no keeper with league experience. Hence Ward out on loan. No idea why Ward was bought back to play in whatever cup, appears to have messed things up.. Having four keepers looks like an overspend. That's exactly it. Him and Ward both have played less than 5 first team matches for Rovers, so as I understand it if Cox gets injured we can get an emergency loan in.

The error was that they recalled a player who was on loan to York City when the original match was played and he started in the replay. The rules state that you can only put players in the replay who were eligible to play during the original match. Who knew that rule existed? Somebody did obviously Pretty common in cups at all levels
