The sooner Grant & Gordon leave the club the better Grant clearly awful in defence and Gordon just does nothing.

Grant Ward’s through ball for the 2nd… 👏👏👏 I just come on here to say this Loverly little ball from Ward through to Vale and on to Thomas for the 2nd. Ward is becoming a pivotal player in the middle and since MT took over looking like a very good signing. Thomas is also looking like the player we hoped he would be, and Evans looks like he's getting back to that level he was in LG2 and bossing the attacking MD role

I'm not going to talk about the court case, that's been discussed enough.
I can however talk a bit about Jevani having watched him quite a lot during his Cambridge United spell.
He got released by Peterborough not long after getting into the 1st team due to an "Off Field" incident. I've no idea what for.
He then bumbled around a few low level teams over here in Cambridgeshire (I used to live in Cambridge)
Only when he scored 19 in 19 games for St. Neots Town, did Cambridge take a chance on him and signed him.
He was about 22-23 when he signed for Cambridge
He clearly had talent and pace, but very much lacked consistency in his game. Some frustrating performances back then as you could see he was skillful but often got knocked off the ball quite easily. He mainly ended up coming on off the bench towards the end of his spell there.
Then he was sold to Colchester and spent a couple of seasons there without setting the world on fire. Then Matt Taylor (not that one!) picked him up for Exeter and he thrived as we know.
Looks like he's bulked up quite a bit from my days watching him at Cambridge United.
Fast, Skilful, has a good shot, can play in multiple posistions. Based on last seasons start, not a bad signing on paper if he can continue that form.

Did anyone else notice/hear at half-time the commentator guy (Keith? The other one, not the main guy), mentioned he'd heard Coutts is out for the season and likely to retire. It was along the lines of he'd heard Coutts won't be back this season and advised to stop playing.
Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere already.

Watched on iFollow
Barnsley came out of the blocks in the first half all guns blazing. Pressed up very high up the pitch and we had absolutely no answer We just smashed it long all night with Marquis to aim for The writing was on the wall from the first 2 minutes Poor performance away from home tonight But it's just one game, a long way to go away from home, and horrible conditions. So it's not the end of the world. The players didn't lack the effort - especially Belly in goals - but Barnsley outplayed us from the first minute and there was no going back Some poor passing, (was there even 3 passes in a row?!), poor decisions Finley, Whelan, and Collins were probably best for their effort, but we were just smashing it forward with no passing/interplay so just a poor night to forget overall Don't get the comments about Thomas, he had a few good plays and nearly put them in a few times for a goal-scoring chance. I would still have him back here in the quarters. The new guy in CD had a difficult time, he did try to play out so I'd like to see him some more before commenting/criticising. We're still 3-4 players short of top half league 1, but we'll get there

Helpline is still going I've been a member for over 10 years now Being exiled in Cambridgeshire, it's always been my way of giving something to the club as I cannot attend many games There is some more info on the club website (Albeit not much) here: www.bristolrovers.co.uk/fans/helpline/Kate who helps run it is lovely and always happy to help if you need anything I've won the "top" prize twice - It used to be a £500 holiday voucher for Thorntons Travel, but since they went bust, it's now a £500 cheque Also won several lots of shopping vouchers ranging from £20 - £150 You also get priority on tickets over general sale (although after season ticket holders I believe?)

Has anyone ever seen Whelan and Iniesta in the same room? Not sure Whelan has played a forward pass since Iniesta retired. 🤣 That's a bit harsh tonight. He was superb marshalling the midfield. Plenty of times he put his foot on the ball and moved forward. Second half he was taking it from deep and running forward waving his arms to get them up the field. He's been a great squad player for us this season. Canny player who can calm things down and also stop the opposition playing. I thought Billy Elliot was superb again tonight, what a signing that has been and Sir Evans... Well what a belter that was! Superb strike. Belly did his bit, sounds like I'm playing it down but he's been so good I'm always confident he'll make a save! Onwards and upwards! #UTG

I was fairly pro-Barton when he was appointed, escpecially after watching & listening to some of the things he did before joining us (Cambridge University talks etc) However I've gone off him more & more, but if he starts getting results then I'm not too bothered. Interesting to hear in an interview with Matt Taylor - Exeter City Manager (not the snake!), that in our game with them recently he was still at his usual antics... Quote from the interview: "Walking down the tunnel and Joey Barton was giving it absolute stacks (abuse) to one of our players and my assistant manager, so I had a word with Joey. But his goalkeeper coach was the biggest man I have ever seen in my life! A guy called Tony Warner, ex-Wolves, he was an absolute giant! You always get it where a load of people walk down a small tunnel at the same time with aggro and you are basically waiting for it to boot off a little bit and I'm thinking, walking down that tunnel I'm thinking, if this goes wrong here I'm in serious trouble" It was a light hearted interview with Joe Wilkinson & David Earl you can listen to it here: Skip to about 55 minutes if you don't want to listen to it all play.acast.com/s/my-new-football-club/episode20-exetercitymanager-matttaylor

1-1 HT
Peterborough the better team by miles. Should be 3-4 up if it weren't for Belshaw. Linesman has been awful.
Best bit (apart from the pen)
JCH warming up in front of gas fans and we were singing "You're just a sh*t Brett Pitman"!

It is no secret Bristol Rovers need to sign a goalkeeper this summer, and Joey Barton may have found his man in Harrogate Town hero James Belshaw.
The 30-year-old has spent two weeks on trial with the Gas after he was given permission to pursue a move away by Town boss Simon Weaver.
Belshaw is under contract at The EnviroVent Stadium for another two years, but with Mark Oxley joining the Sulphurites from Southend United this summer his playing chances are in doubt.
In four years with Harrogate, Belshaw has made 184 appearances, winning promotions from the National League North and the National League
“Belly has had his agent talking to a few clubs and he’s going to be with another side for a week so they can have a closer look at him with a view to a move there,” Weaver told the Harrogate Advertiser on July 8.
The keeper has been at The Quarters since, and Gas boss Barton was impressed with his performance in the 1-1 draw against Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.
"I thought he did well," Barton told Bristol Live. "We’ve obviously got a position to fill with losing about eight goalkeepers last year.
"We’ve only got Anssi (Jaakkola) and Jed (Ward) registered in the senior group, so we do need to fill that space.
"He did well today and I’ve got to give a decision to him today. I’ll go speak with him now and give him a decision.
"But I thought he was really good. He furthered his case after being really good in the last couple of weeks around the training ground.
"Might have a bit of positive news for him there, but it will come down to price point."
In Jaakkola, Rovers have a top-class number one, while 18-year-old Ward is a prospect Rovers are eager to develop.
Barton is in need of a second-choice option to cover for possible injuries and Jaakkola's trips on international duty, and Belshaw appears an ideal fit from a Rovers perspective.
He has a wealth of experience under his belt and, aged 30, he ought to be coming into his prime years as a goalkeeper and a dependable back-up for Jaakkola.
