Love the leadership JCH is showing and impressed by Smiths decision making!
When Tylers third is ruled out by the linesman JCH is the first to clap and shout over to keep his head up. Then when Smith lays it on a plate for him, he’s straight over to him to what I can only assume is what we’re all thinking. Shows maturity to not get greedy in that situation when your on a hatrick and make the right decision to pass.
We need leaders. Take em under your wing Jono!

DC is playing with fire if he goes into Feb with only 5 first team midfielders + Byron Moore. Any injuries or suspensions and we’re in the sh**!

Nice to see him starting well for them, good luck to him.
Gonna miss watching him put defenders on their arse while he works his way on to his left foot!

Ollie Clarke might like Rovers. Yeah I reckon he’s Gas through and through. OC’s old man is a city fan so who knows who he grew up supporting.

Ellis is probably my player of the year so far.
He’s matured so much since last season and finally looks fully focused. He’s learned to bully the defenders more than he used to and be a real physical presence.
Top notch work rate and leads the line well. I’ve noticed that he seems to win a ridiculous amount of headers when he’s back defending set pieces too and I’m sure DC values that ability to be dominant in both boxes.
Keep it up Ellis!

Why the secrecy over the fee for BB, what do we have to gain or lose by not just saying what he was signed for? Sorry just do not get it. UTG ! [merged into this thread -AF]I read that it was Prestons end that requested it to be announced as undisclosed. Billy at his best was a pleasure watch. One of the few players we’ve had for a long time that whenever he got the ball in the final third, you knew something special could happen. Unfortunately, the reality is we can’t compete with championship clubs and the step up is too good an oportunity for players at L1 to turn down. Wish him nothing but the best of luck.

Pompey had two huge CBs who were dominant and looked organised as a whole. Ellis coming on was difference maker for me purely because of his physicality and that then caused their defence some issues.
Lacked that cutting edge in the final third for large parts but on the whole thought we deserved the win. Ball retention was much much better today and I’m sure the pitch made things difficult for both teams who looked to play it on the ground more than what we’ve seen recently.

Just watched highlights, credit to Smith, those two saves were great reactions although in the mix of it all it looked like Oldham were denied a blatant second pen.
I didnt get to travel today but after watching that and seeing the stats I’m more than happy that we’ve returned with a point.

Yeah, let’s get rid of Clarke after a stuttering start to the season. Then we can get the likes of McGee and Buckle back and join the bottom half of League Two again for the next decade zzzzzzz

I am worried. Anyone remember playing a diamond at Pompey in league 2? What was the score that day? 3-1 who was the Pompey manager? Paul Cook. We do have more pace today but I've never really liked the diamond formation. Keeps it tight in the middle of the park and we have pace down the wings with Leadbitter and Bola. Bit worried about the fullbacks being exposed though if I'm honest

Can we tone down the insults, a bit, please. Thanks. By me to members or by members towards my football club? We've been sh**e. Fans on the forum have mentioned that we've been sh**e. Get over it!

Not losing anyone today was much more important to me than bringing in new faces. Losing Bodin was my main worry and it sounds like he will definitely be staying so happy days.
I'm glad DC hasn't gone out and panic buyed today. This team is more than good enough to challenge this year and we will be absolutely fine until January, when we can reassess and then maybe look to add to the squad if the deal looks right.
