Very talented player, a game changer on his day, full pre season and get him properly examined, then a 1 year deal which guarantees a second on completion of 75 % of matches.
He s worth a calculated gamble, but can t have him and Grant.

Making Evo captain was a great idea, still, think he will join Azza if they go up. It may have been a good thing for Evo's personal development and sense of responibility but i am not sure that either he or Finley before him are true captains and that has been our problem for much of the season. They may lead by example but Rossiter has shown in just 2 short games how a true captain should be loud and vocal - someone who can motivate the people around them and make sure that everyone knows their responsibility. I think that it was Stuart perce who commented that a good captain will still encorage and moan about poor passages of play from others - even when he is having a nightmare himself Agreed think it was done to make him think twice about leaving, Rossiter was dictating play and talking all the time, so think it was done as a gesture rather than him being the best person.

The Cheltenham and Cambridge performances have given me hope that Taylor can set a team up adequately at this level - back to basics with players in their natural positions, less long ball and have actually looked to play passing football at times. Changed my vote to No as I think we are crying out for on and off pitch stability. Hopefully over the summer we can keep Thomas and Evans and build a solid L1 squad around them. Making Evo captain was a great idea, still, think he will join Azza if they go up.

FGR into non league, just like Yeovil, didn't mind them until their fans gave it the big'un and tried to instigate a rivalry with us, goodbye! Gone downhill since they were attacked by our knights of the realm on the pitch whilst celebrating, don t like thuggery but that looked funny at first 😂

Everyone put a shift in, some neat passing, Rossiter in the engine room reminds me of Pirlo, if he could stay fit he is mustard.
Still a little wasteful in final third, felt like a friendly little atmosphere and poor attendance.
Nice to see a win, looking forward to the rebuild now UTG.

Hoping for a win but depends which Gas turns up. Think Matt has had a harder time than he expected, no doubt he will get rid of the problem players in the summer, and hopefully we can kick on next season.
Not going to go overboard, or have a meltdown at new signings until I've seen them play.
Think this has been a tiring season and will be glad of a rest.

You can sense whether someone is the right person for the job based on the general feeling around the place. JB for all his (many) flaws created a positive feeling around the club fanbase and the players played good football under him, although sometimes lacking in results. Since Matt Taylor came in I know I have been very meh about Rovers, and clearly a lot of others are the same as it appears the players are also. I think a good manager comes in, gets the players on side and all fighting for the shirt. This team were very capable and shown it during early spells of the season. Inevitably, injuries and all that have played a part but I just don't feel it. Ideally, he goes and someone comes in with a bit about them. Managers aside, it must be said that that good feeling was also a lot to do with Wael, and the change to the new Board / Owners have undoubtedly been a part of the worsening morale. Everything plays a part. Joe was a great salesman, we ll have our day in the sun blah blah blah, without the Geordie Maradonna we would still be in league 2. Look at our form last year under Joe we were again struggling, he spent decent money on Beefy and Luke Mc neither have worked out well. He had great charisma and at first I enjoyed listening to him, Matt is a typical northerner not flash, not all about me, and can t see allegations about him asking the chef to do 100 keepy uppies! I believe he will turn this around, once the players derailing the rest have been shipped out. Allegedly we were looking at Smith and knibbs in January window, shows we were looking at upgrades. Watford got rid of Rob Edwards too early, that ain t looking like a wise decision now.

The owner was there last night , my mate asked him ‘what’s going on with this club , why are we so bad ? ‘ all he replied was , and I quote, ‘next season , next season you’ll see’ Gorringe was with him also but didn’t say anything he just sort of shrugged his shoulders. Not really news and not much to read into but I thought I’d share I've suffered watching the dross like everyone else, and I think the owner will have to back Matt financially, or the Mem will be like a graveyard come Christmas, I've paid for next season and the thought of it fills me with apprehension, although if you caught Alex Rodman on Radio he was bigging up George Friend, and saying he was watching loads of games and is a smart operator. Thanks for posting UTG

Do you know who was responsible for the scouting of Conteh? No Read somewhere Matt Taylor had been tracking him for a while for Rotherham.

I'm backing Matt, yes the line up last night was bizarre, however it was quite clear a while ago the squad was not good enough despite what the Liverpool Mayor spouted!
Up front there is no pace, and left back is weak, right back has been a problem too.
Players seem to have decided that Matt ain't for them, some of their performances have been unacceptable.
He built a decent team at Exeter, on a small budget, and for me deserves the chance to assemble his own squad of players.

Seems familiar to last season when we were equally as poor, 1 1 Evans.

Tick tock he gave BEP 24 hours to take it down, let's see what happens next?
Barrister to junior QC, " How are we going to prove Mr Barton was offended?!" 😂😂

I dread to think who the talks were with, at most it could only be Hoole, Gordon, Finely and possibly Sinclair? Although Gordon has done little to warrant a new contract in recent games. Totally agree Topper … Hoole would be my only thought To keep. His crossing is Leadbetteresque clear them all out

Definitely not Sam Nombe he was dreadful last night and cannot believe how out of condition he looked.
Still think we should look at Sonny cox at Exeter worth a punt, strong and fast good finisher.

Hope everyone gives Azza a good reception, he ain't a fan and this is his career, if he gets pelters he will silence the idiots with a celebration if he scores.
We have no pressure on us, depends whether our players are up for it, think 1 1.

Paul Hurst was spot on other than a couple league 2 standard, players not doing enough for their respective fans.
I cannot literally wait for the cull, and they will all deserve this.
You see players being subbed and ignoring Matt Taylor, I really hope George Friend is all over the non league clubs, seeing what potential is available.

Lack of quality today, not going overboard but based on that, Jed ward, connor T, LT and Evo if he wants to stay, and Chris Martin, the rest are poor at passing and crossing, still on a positive we have a blank canvas.

Can't wait for the clear out of JBs sh*te. Lumbered us with pensioners with no hunger or desire and only after a final paycheck - and half the time they don't even play. Can't wait for the summer for the gaffer to get the opportunity to bring in those who actually want to better themselves and achieve something. Unfortunately I fear we will feel the lasting remnants of the worst thing to have ever happened to this football club for some time. I literally am not too concerned if the only 4 to stay were Jed Ward, conteh, Connor Taylor and Luke Thomas, had enough of all of them, no one busting a gut for the fans, we deserve better. If we retain the same budget we should be able to build a decent team, like that Sonny Cox at Exeter, and Dipepa at Port Vale.

We cannot keep replacing managers like Watford do, and Rob Edwards proves you sometimes need to give them time.
When he s sent the team out, it's not his fault that the players yesterday were awful.
Let's judge him with his own players, he quickly identified we have no pace up front, let's discuss this again in December.
This is a huge pre season for us, but one George Friend should be relishing, so many signings to make, and a lot on decent wages will be gone.
I hope we are prepared for this, most know their fate I would expect, that's why these performances keep cropping up.
