Drove from Leicester to Devon today and couldn’t resist a detour off the M5 to take a peak. Some work happening even though Sunday - a tractor going up and down the pitch farthest from the gates, with something behind it (more seeding?). Didn’t realise how easy access is from the motorway. Also noticed some quite nice houses in and around the area, which I’m sure a league 1 wage would cover! Almondsbury is known as the Beverly Hills of Bristol! Jed Clampett lives there with Elly May.

Memories
Attracting ex England internationals to Rovers - Alan Ball and Mick Channon. The constant shout of "tackle" aimed at Neil Slatter. Having to walk down Muller Road from the old bus depot cos I didn't know there was a bus that stopped closer. Beating the sh**. Rovers 3 Leicester 1 in the FA Cup. Singing in the tote end.
When I was too young to go on my own I remember seeing the Bristol Bulldogs speedway just as much as Rovers cos my dad loved his bikes.

I think we have to look at this game and see it for what it is ~ basically a training game with some new signings playing in the quarters for the first time ~ expect better as time goes on As long as it's not 0-4 like the last pre season we played against them. Well it can't be cos we're 2-1 up

I agree with your sentiments to a point but you can't lay all this at feeding the rich. If you invest in a pension scheme there is a fair probability (unless you have chosen to invest in some bespoke areas) that your pension provider holds shares in a number of FTSE250 companies. Increased share price and dividend payments help to maintain the fund and provide the means to pay out pension benefits. I would suggest that most people with pensions are not filthy rich (cos they don't need them and are likely using them as part of a tax efficient savings vehicle) but are just low to middle class workers that put away whatever they can each month in the hope that they will have something to live on when they retire.
There are certainly discussion points that can be raised around paying huge dividends whilst shedding staff at the same time but solely blaming the rich for receiving dividends isn't one that stacks up.

Having read the link that Gaswood posted I couldn't see where JML said he is targeting 10 goals. He does says he wants to do what he did last season but 10 times better. If you are trying to link it to goals compared to last season then the link says he scored against Wycombe and Southend so 10 times better would mean that he wants to score 20 goals. He’s said it in his interview on the Rovers social media channels. He said along the lines of “I got 2 last season and that was only half a season so hopefully this season I’m aiming for 10 and above”. Fair enough. I haven't heard the interview and GGMI made no reference to it, hence the confusion.

Is it just me or does he look like Ashley Young in that photo 🤔. Pleased with this. Schoolboy error though saying he is targeting scoring 10 goals in public. 🙈 Having read the link that Gaswood posted I couldn't see where JML said he is targeting 10 goals. Pretty sure I would have read it on the BBC news website as I pretty much don't go anywhere else. And it isn't something I would just make up. However, if I'm mistaken, so be it. As for Facebook, Twitter, Memes - I have no experience of any of that. Not the slightest bit interested in investing any of my time in that tripe. Here you go, scroll down about half way, you'll see the actual charge sheet. xperimentalhamid.com/news/top/reality-of-george-floyd-maltreating-a-pregnant-woman/He went to the door, gained entry, was part of the robbery, it wasn't him who is specifically named as having a gun, someone hit the Lady. This is what happens when you play 'The Telephone Game'. The story changes every time it's told. I've looked at a couple of lists of his convictions, there's plenty, but nothing else similar, so I'm guessing this is the one in question. One final comment, for now, he was yet another person brought up in a family with an absent Father. It doesn't matter how many times people deny this link, it's real, a disadvantaged life in America is highly likely if your Father isn't around. That doesn't mean that every person brought up in a single parent family will struggle, but a high percentage will. Yep, I found that charge sheet on another website. It doesn't actually say Floyd pointed the gun at the woman's stomach or that she was pregnant so it could be a fake new story that has subsequently circulated. And maybe I was taken in by it.

The link quotes both £160 million and £160 billion. One is obviously a typo. If it's £160 million then it's hardly worth discussing. I assume the "true" figure is £160 billion as that would get people talking. But I just can't see that such a figure could have been overlooked. Regardless of whether any debate on the WA was stifled or not, didn't all the other political parties get to look at it? If so, why wasn't it challenged? I'm a bit confused.

I believe she was pregnant at the time. Depends where you get your 'fake news', memes on Facebook by the sounds of it. Never your fault was it Buckle? Always someone else's. You're a Dam oompa loompa.
I remember the game against Torquay that season when Rovers fans were chanting "we hate Buckle more than you".

I wonder if the poor lady who had a gun held to her stomach by Floyd during an armed robbery received help for any mental health issues she may have had as a consequence? I believe she was pregnant at the time.

Your Honour The Plaintiff is guilty of gross generalisation and I demand he retract.😜 Your Honour The Plaintiff is a pain in the arse and I demand he withdraw. That sounds like summat you would hear in the courtroom setting of a porn movie.
