Hang on just a moment. Where's the reciprocation here? How much did Rovers fans pay only 10 days later down at SJP? The offer to Rovers fans was to allow the club to (hopefully) get the necessary numbers in the stand to fulfil the criteria for first stage capacity testing, at very short notice. I see no reason to extend that offer to ECFC fans. I see the issue being more of a communication shortfall. If things are explained concisely in good time, most of the ensuing noise is halted before it begins.

Having hosted young players that go out on loan, they train with their loan team, if that is part-time, then they train with Rovers for the other days.

Civil Service ground is no bigger than the Mem, the Rec on the other hand is, but what would it cost to purchase from the local authority? You could swap the Mem for the Civil Service ground, but then you don't realise any capital to build, so need to find/fund full build costs as well as purchase costs of the Rec.

we could still see an out of contract striker in. You just never know. Its what adds to the excitement of football.

didn't exactly give much notice to the fans about this, nor did they explain the process for swapping for single or groups of season ticket holders. Having to go into the shop to do this before 5pm on a match day, isn't feasible for a lot of people.

Really wanted to go to this one, but I’m working til midnight, so if anyone can see their way clear to posting a summary of proceedings that would be great First of al, the turnout was pathetic - I think about 15 people besides the committee. This was possibly because the "guest speaker" wasn't advised in advance - in previous meetings, we've had Joey Barton, Darrell Clarke, Nick Higgs, Wael Al Qadi known about in advance which attracted decent turnouts. The AGM official agenda was passed and all reports agreed by the attendees, committee members up for re-election were passed unanimously. The only question was had Steve Lamble and Helen Wigmore met the new owners and Steve confirmed they had and that the new owners are super ambitious to progress the club to at least Championship level. The guest speaker was, in fact Byron Anthony who provided a lot of details about our application to be upgraded to Category 2. Currently, the academy is split over 3 sites, Lockleaze, SGS and Hill something or another (never heard of it before). The interim solution is for all age groups to be at SGS, which would qualify for Category 2, although more full-time staff would be needed. The funding is much higher from the Premier League and EFL if we get accepted for Category 2. Byron then made the mistake of asking for questions and comments. Two people then hogged the floor for over an hour and basically their questions could be summarised as "why is City's academy better than ours?" I was bored rigid and I don't know how Byron kept a straight face! Hill something or other, I believe is Hillside, UWEs sports pitches Hambrook Lane

What about Will Still (Reims - I think?). Pulling up trees, but doesn't have a UEFA A licence, but that doesn't matter in League 1 or Championship. That would certainly be a sign of intent.

Last game of last season bought forward to lunchtime kick-off, so hospitality turned out to be scrambled eggs on toast - well if you could call it that, very little over cooked eggs, on a single small piece of massively over toasted sour dough bread. not enough croissants or pain aux chocolats for all who attended. No decaffeinated tea or coffee, and all for the princely sum of £54. Yes £54 for inedible scrambled egg on "toast". No offer of refund, barely even an acknowledgement of the fare being so poor. Not for us (12) again. We now go to Grounded on Gloucester Road, for a decent breakfast at a quarter of the price. We understand that sometimes things go wrong, but not even an attempt to rectify or even acknowledge the situation.

Not aimed at you but....the only thing likely to block the sight lines from the West Stand is the low roof line of the SW stand, imo. Raise it to the level of the South and West stands and it's all sorted. Sightlines argument is nonsense. It's been built low for one or both of two reasons: 1 Cost 2 Potential planning issues and objections. If the whole thing actually gets built I think we will see the SW stand built up to the level of the other two stands in due course. it's not sightlines from the West being a problem. if the SW part of the stand was the same height and rake of the rest of the south stand there isn't a chance anyone sat at the back could see the Thatchers End But when the west stand is demolished, the south west stand will be removed and roofline followed round. Look at the roof lines of the South and the West stands. Also has anyone else noticed that the South stand ends are quite different? It looks like another section is being planned from the East side, to match up with the South.

If anyone has any comments regarding the improvement (or otherwise) of the toilet facilities please would you let me know as it is something that I have been trying to monitor from the fans point of view. I can channel these back to TG. I would be grateful if you would be as specific as possible (yuck). It isn;t always the easiest of things to do, either for you describing your experiences, or for me trying to monitor them!!!! Steve Lamble Supporters Club Director Maybe pressure washing them once a year wouldn't go amiss, they stink, and have no airflow. Better still, napalm.

Article 17 of FIFA transfer rules: Article 17: compensation If a contract is terminated without just cause, the person in breach will have to pay compensation. Generally, when calculating the level of compensation, the law of the country concerned and the specific city of sport will be considered. Other criteria which will be taken into account will be the player’s pay and benefits due under the existing contract and/or the new contract, the time remaining on the existing contract up to a maximum of five years, the fees and expenses paid or incurred by the former club and whether the contractual breach falls within a ‘protected period’. For players under the age of 28, the protected period for their contract is three years, meaning they can buy themselves out of the contract three years after signing it. For players over the age of 28, the protected period for their contract is two years. The protected period starts again when, while renewing the contract, the duration of the previous contract is extended. Entitlement to compensation cannot be assigned to a third party. If a player has to pay compensation, he and his new club shall be jointly and severally liable for its payment. The amount may be stipulated in the contract or agreed between the parties. So in theory JCH could buy himself out of his contract and become a free agent. Compensation would need to be paid for the final contract year, but because he is over 28, and now outside of the protected 2 year period, no sanctions would apply. It's obviously not just that simple, there are many more articles, but it is possible. www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/policies/player-registration/fifa-regulations-on-the-status-and-transfer-of-players

The new owners background is still so very vague and nothing we've heard so far has shed much light. I've tried searching several times for any sort of info and all I can find are two crappy websites for the small restaurant franchise thing and the real estate company with little evidence of any activity. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places and others have found out something a little more substantive, but I'm still none the wiser after looking quite thoroughly. Wael mentioned turning down American approaches and incidentally the prospective new American investors at Carlisle United are much easier to find out about, for example their logistics firm's gross revenue last year was reported in December 2022 as $414m, with net revenue $85m. Have a search for an NBA partnered basketball school in Kuwait. You must have something about you to be an NBA partner. www.kuwaittimes.com/nba-basketball-school-kuwait-trains-next-generation-of-athletes/nbabasketballschoolkw.com/

It is possible JCH can buy himself out of his contract and become a free agent. As it stands Rovers down to 1 recognised striker, and Peterborough left paying for a striker they don’t want and might no longer be able to afford under SCCP (Ffp) rules.

Drive to underground station near Heathrow and park - or download an app and find parking on someones drive, then tube and bus it to the Valley. Citymapper is a brilliant app for transport, takes all the stress out of it. There are many parking apps, of which I find yourparkingspace very good.
