If we are serious we have to. We seriously won't spend that sort of money. Why not? We now have our best attendances for years, a multi-millionaire owner and supposedly a top 6 budget. We also received £300k back in January. If the right player became available and he was worth it, I don't see why not. In the long term the same player could make millions from a sell-on. Sometimes you need to speculate to accumulate.

Oxford seem to have already beaten a Championship club until Appleton decided to jump ship? Although at the moment there's little sign we're doing anything in the transfer market. Topper in panic mode 😂 Why would I panic as I won't be the bloke who has to send out a team to play in August

I think that £300k for the Chelsea game may have left the bank account a long time ago.

Someone on here suggested the Peterborough have made over 21 million on player sales in the last few years. You're not always going to hit the bullseye but they are obviously doing something right!

Yeah, Barry Fry's vision for the future of football. The team is just a means of keeping his warehouse stock fresh.

Apparently we handed a large portion of that onto florist green :jawdrop: My memory isn't the best if I am honest, but wasn't Matty Taylor out of contract at Forest Green (summer of 2014) and we signed him for the 2014 - 2015 season? Thus meaning FGR wouldn't have been paid a fee or had a deal with us to pay any % of a sell on?
EDIT :- The old grey matter ain't as bad as I thought - www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/27871117

Having accumulated £21m in transfer fees suggest they are also doing it wrong when it comes to league status! I wonder if the latest signings will be the next £m transfers or the next LJ?
