I cant really until Tuesday (ish) I believe one has been kept on as Pro though (waiting on deceision of 1 more) . So with that one, Kofi Shaw, Jerry Lawrence. Thats all you will have as under 21's Going into next season. Aren't a lot of sides u-23s? That could include Gordon and Jones. Maybe naive of me but I thought covid would knock some sense into "football people" but the wages are still absurd. I thought we would have a few almost professional "squad" players, someone like Cam Hargreaves who would be on not that much and would effectively be semi pro and be contracted to work say 6 hours a week for the Community Trust and similar hours for the FC in some other capacity, such as sponsors or social events or meet and greets at hospitality if not selected. Would have rolling two year contracts and play about 5 league starts a season but would play in the EFL trophy and early rounds of cups and would be handy to be on the bench to play the pressing game when one nil up away from home similar to his best performance when he won a blatant pen (not given!) v Cov when just constantly haranguing the Cov back line. If we had 4-5 of those type of contracts for squad players in different positions we could use more of the budget on main targets. If the player doesn't make it, at least their cv shows they have other transferrable skills and experiences other than just a failed pro. I'm not sure a full development squad and all the management, coaches, physio etc and all that entails are very cost effective. a lot of what you say makes a lot of sense but i don't think Clubs have time or money for that. and ref under 23's comment i'm pretty sure Gordon and Jones wont be here next season, I guess you could add Jed Ward and Luca Hoole oh and Kamil Conteh to that but only leaves you with 6 players under 23 now in the whole squad I believe ( If you Don't count Connor Taylor and James Connolly who are both 23 end of October i beleive) in out of that list 2 or 3 will be involved in match day squads week in and week out, so i cant see a development side certainly in the next 1-2 years.

Mitch Pinnock will be out of contract in June - hard working , great shot and one heck of a long throw.

It might mean we can throw it direct to our keeper from deep in the opposition half, rather than via 2 or 3 players

Liked the look of Bryant Bilongo on loan at Ebbsfleet second half of this season. Attacking left-back who could make a good option for next season should Gordon depart.
Middlesbrough's use of London as a scouting area has proven to be successful in recent years with the likes of Isaiah Jones and the promising Pharrell Willis being unearthed as well as our own Conteh. Would like to see us use similar methods should the development squad actually return.

Imagine if we could find the next Gift Orban just randomly like that Norwegian 2nd tier team did The lad Amara Diouf I mentioned is likely to develop longer term from a winger into a top striker, unfortunately he is moving to a higher level than us. Another Gift Orban-esque striker is Adama Bojang who has joined Stade Reims in France after impressing for Gambia in the U20 Africa Cup of Nations. Bojang looked an outstanding prospect and he's just recently made his debut for the Reims reserve side and scored 4 goals. Remember the name, I'm sure you'll be hearing more about him in the future. The players are out there to be found if you are willing to put in the hard yards. Orban was spotted by Stabæk's scouts during a showcase tournament. We are a bigger club than Stabæk and have bigger financial resources so there isn't any reason why we shouldn't be able to bring in someone like him if we manage to spot him early enough (which is key). There is an 18-year-old striker called Alie Conteh still playing in Africa for Sierra Leone club FC Kallon and the national team creating a little buzz and Norwegian club Molde possibly interested. The domestic league top scorer and the first-ever player to hit six goals in a single Sierra Leone league match. gasmania that lad Alie Conteh did end up moving...to tiny Norwegian 2nd division club. Be interesting to see how he adapts.

Obviously there is no way we would get involved in making such a signing but we can dream haha 😂 Ruari Paton is scoring a fair few for Queens Park this season, despite them being 3rd bottom. Can't imagine him staying at that level for very long.

Lys mousset formerly of Bournemouth only 28 he’s free Having seen him play for AFCB years ago before he went to Sheffield U I’d say a big no. Little motivation, usually looked uninterested and if Eddie H couldn’t get a tune out of him….. But I also say about not judging players from previous experience and he looked far better at Sheffield U. But I’d still say no knowing we need some pace in our strikers. Let’s go for players on their way up showing the attributes we need which I hope our scouting team are aware of. Fingers crossed. 🤞🏽 UTG!

Istr a thread on here about Wael opening a base and team in the London area. Great idea if any club has the support to give any players a platform to perform but without that perhaps a pointless exercise. Sadly. If you're intending to do that then you need to do it properly. Not a half-arsed approach to it just to placate others or as an PR exercise etc. UTG!
