I've never been one to go into total meltdown like some on twitter and the Facebook belter page when we haven't signed Messi and 20 others in the middle of May.
But as each week goes on, closer to the return of pre season I would have thought at least 2-3 new additions to the first team would have been brought in by now.
I'd imagine it takes time for new players to gel with the existing squad and to settle in to their new surroundings, so when is the right time to start feeling concerned if we have another week, this time going into July without any movement?
Still no GK on the books and a replacement for Hartley still required, could the possibility of 10-11 players all arriving at once be on the cards?

Players aren't even back training yet are they, so no 'gelling' being missed if that's the case?

Good post.
Tbf, we may have missed out on targets (so not really our fault) and we may be waiting for answers from some players - again out of our control. In other words, we may be doing all we can to bring in players as we speak, but it might be out of our control.
Rumour has it we're just waiting on an answer from Godden (of Stevenage) so fingers crossed we might have another signing shortly.

It's just down to personal terms with Godden same with Lumley I think the next 2 weeks will Rover's busiest Were not the only ones in the league that have been quite with signings I don't think MK Dons, Rochdale, Oldham and Southend have made any strong signings

Don't current contracts expire at the end of June for all players? I think that's when the real movement will start, especially if we are looking to pay money for players, as clubs don't know who they are going to sign, so it is difficult to say if they'll let certain players go.....plus, a lot of players are on holiday at the moment.
Stand easy fellas.

Thinking both fees would be way above the rumoured £150k paid for Sercombe, so potentially some serious money going out the door this summer...

People bang on about us signing better players, but better players will be more in demand.
perhaps the players we are after (who are out of contract) have more than one offer on the table and our weighing them up, or doing like Matty Taylor and hanging on to see what other offers they get
If we are trying to sign say Lumley, perhaps QPR will let him go, and something may be agreed, but we are waiting for QPR to sign a replacement etc, etc

Rochdale have signed Jordan Williams and Reece Brown. Oldham have signed Craig Davies and Dan Gardner. I doubt any of those sides needed to make 11/12 new signings As for Godden, Stevenage think it will take 'big money' to sign him. I'm not sure it's worth paying through the nose for a player who only scored 15 goals from open play in League Two. His game is nothing special IMHO.

Christian Doidge is another rumour floating about makes more sense him coming here as relocating wouldn't be an issue I know Rotherham have expressed an interest in him

It's not saying much though. Lee Brown has scored more goals in the past couple of years than James.

According to someone who works at the Bet 365 stadium and tipped me off re Matt Lund, nothing decided on Sweeney yet but would think he would go on loan to a Championship club.Expected to report back for their pre season training as it stands but Stoke have been very quiet transfer wise.Leading scorer last season was Crouchy despite their big names up front.Would love to see Sweeney back. ---------- Other news from up here.
Posted at 13:43 Port Vale's manager Michael Brown says his next objective is to bring more experience into the squad.
Vale signed five players last week, with an average age of just 23.
Despite a total of six signings this summer, Brown told BBC Radio Stoke his transfer business wasn't over.
