With the much improved performance at Forest Green I travel today to Braintree wondering if our away form is going to continue in the vein of FG or go back to the horror of Altringham. The main reason is that our away form has been awful now for a long time going back as far as Bradford away season before last. Under DC at the end of last season the awful defending seemed to come back in away games to ruin good performances (Portsmouth and Bury come to mind) I thought the performance at FG was the best away performance since the Crawley cup match and we played some good football but despite this we only returned with a point. Lets hope today is the first of a lot of away victories. UTG

Still not convinced with our strike force either tbh, white looked shockingly slow last week, but hoping they will get better with games .Above all else we need to keep our unbeaten run going now for as long as we can and build some confidence and self belief. I will gladly take four points from the next two games.

Today is winnable, but not a gimme I would settle for a draw today and 3 points next home match.

I wonder how many away league games we've won in the last 4 years, not many for sure. I'd take a point today but if we don't start winning away we'll never get in the top five.

Take a point today but realistic play off hopes rely on winning games like today. Still think our form is on a bit of a knife edge. Some good stuff last 2 games could see us kick on but we could have lost both of those 2 games despite being in charge at FGR and a good first half v Halifax. Getting either Taylor or White scoring holds the key I think.

I cannot remember the last time we had decent away form. We would probably still be in League 1. It's the way we approach games. Always looking for a point rather than all 3.

We can't start over it until we start winning games away. Starting with today hopefully.

People happy to settle for a point at Braintree tells me all I need to know.
Looking forward to FGR away next year already?
We must beat teams like Braintree because they are a small sh** team that we must be far better than. They know that too.

We have to give a certain amount of respect to the home side in any league we compete in but still approach the game with confidence and a positive attitude.

Want us to win 3 or 4 nil, know full well that ain't gonna happen.

I don't know what our/your approach was at Altrincham. Regardless of the final result, the attitude should be about winning games and not settling for a point. Especially against teams like this. I think many people have been brainwashed into the 80s government scheme of taking part being more important than winning!

According the the Luton fan who posted on here not long ago, that was the exact same attitude that saw them stay in this division for 5 years. As much as it hurts, we are in the same league now as the Braintree's of this world and have no divine right to walk over sides like that. We saw it at Altrincham, and we'll see it today if the players go in with the that mindset. The only way we will beat 'tin-pot village teams' is by being quicker, stronger, hungrier and more clinical.

Must win game for me. Another win and teams will start fearing us rather than looking at us as a big club there for the taking.

At Barnet, alt'ham and Braintree our performances have been completely unacceptable. DC must be replaced before he achieves terminal damage.

We will never be over it until we actually go at teams. I know we had a poor refereeing decision against us but after that it sounds like our heads dropped and we gave up. It seems that we don't have a leader on the pitch to carry us through the tough times.
Since the Buckle era I think we have only come from behind once in a League game to win and once in a cup game. That is totally unacceptable. We might as well just shake hands when we concede first and get back on the bus.
Eastleigh is looking even less appealing.
