My point is DC was an odd and unusual appointment. Do we keep him just because we have sacked lots of managers ? If he has qualities worth giving him more time then we should give him more time. Im not seeing anything positive myself but more then willing to be won over by other peoples assesments  ? Unfortunately our new performence management director (CJ) has only attended one game all season). Going to have to rely on Ken Masters' views  |

Going to have to rely on Ken Masters' views The man built a winning mentality at Salisbury after one of their darkest moments, and in some of the games I've seen there have been moments of quality football which make me think that he could be the right man - could be, that's not me saying he is. Trouble is, he then reverts to a sit deep, long ball style which squeezes any creativity out of us and is reminiscent of the bad side of John Ward last year. It's just too early for me, and I worry that we'd be getting rid of a manager who could have been successful given time, but initially struggled to adapt to the league, the club, whatever. There's little danger that we'll get dragged into the 'lower group' of the league as I like to call it, so the biggest risk is that we won't be pushing for the play-off places. I think we have to give him another 10/15 more games in order to prove that there are glimpses of a manager who can indeed bring us back up. That sounds like a long time, but even then you're still either keeping or getting rid in November, which is plenty of time to appoint a new manager before giving them the transfer market to bring a few in. |

Thanks Gashead. How hard was it to get Salisbury out the southern league and conf south do you think ? Di they have a good budget compare to the likes of Yate and Weston super mare ?

I'm sensing that your post is tongue in cheek (apologies if not)  I don't think getting promotion into the league we're in now is an easy feat, although the Conference is one hell of a step up - hence why he may be struggling. The fact young Jamie Lucas is scoring for fun for WSM and yet our strikers can't score at all is worrying though, means I'm certainly not going to belittle Conference South. I'm just trying to figure out whether DC is 'clueless' as many have put it, or just struggling to adapt at the moment. If it's the latter, he may succeed in the end. If it's the former, well he's out the door. In 10-15 games I think I'll be able to tell. |
