Look the t-bone guy has always called darrell clarke the clueless one before that he was always very critical of matty taylor despite all his goals. I dont agree with his opinions and many others dont but its his opinion and he is totally entitled to it in my view. But you want to ban him? really? Have you never heard of an idea called "free speech" ? Of course he is entitled to HIS opinion, but do you really think what he says is HIS opinion? I dont know? What was that old american tv show where aliens took over the bodies of people and took there place in society? maybe thats happened to t-bone?

Got my fingers crossed for signing The Sweeney, one of Craig Noone, Corey Whitely or Harry Forrester for the wing, maybe someone like Rohan Ince for the defensive midfielder role and any of Paddy Madden, Bradley Fewster, George Hirst and Ivan Toney for the striker signing, or if we want to think outside the box and look further afield maybe Patrick Schmidt or Dani Aquino. I've got a feeling we might see a 'marquee signing' amongst the four DC spoke of.

Hopefully we sign the guy from Stevenage we are linked with. We need a striker who is going to get 20 plus goals this season if we are going to have a real go at promotion.

Hearing that DC still wants 4 more signings is certainly a relief because looking at our squad I still think we are weaker than we were last season. Are either Smith or Slocombe as good as Lumley? Time will tell I guess but I was a fan of Joe. I have to say both keepers made decent saves today, particularly Smith. We're definitely weaker in defence because we're basically the same minus Sweeney. The additions made in that area are back up at best. Both Broadbent and Menayese look a long way from being first team ready. The centre of midfield is similar quality to 2016/17. We've added Sercombe but did have Boateng and Colkett for the first half of last season so I'm not sure we're any stronger than this time last year but not too bad. We're definitely weaker on the wings because we've lost Montana and haven't replaced him meaning we only have Moore and Bodin as recongnised first team wide players. Broom still looks too naive to me. Maybe an impact sub but more likely he'll be loaned out. We're weaker up front as well, both in terms of numbers and quality. I like the look of Nichols but he won't be as prolific as Taylor and last season we had 5 strikers to call on with James and Easter also available. So to bring our squad up to last years standard we need at least 3 quality first team signings, a centre back, a winger and a striker. I'm not sure what position the 4th player he's after will play but the 3 mentioned are essential if we're to have a half decent season because L1 is going to be extremely tough this year. The 4th is a defensive midfielder - DC stated this early in the summer. I reckon he was going to sign the Aussie, Hall, but then he got an injury. Does anyone know if he's still being considered ?

I agree with the bulk of what you're saying. I would point out though that you're comparing our squad now to our squad both at the start and end of last season. I.e with Taylor, Colkett, Boateng, Sweeney and Lumley. The reality is that there was no or little overlap between the first 3 of those and the second 2 so comparison needs to be drawn between either the start of season squad or the end of season squad. Based on the start of last season, I'd say our gk situation is now considerably stronger. CB - nothing in it as Hartley wasn't better than what we have now. LB - stronger due to Bola signing. Midfield - stronger as Clarke is 10x the player now and Sercombe looks better than Colkett and Boateng. Wing and strikers are probably the only areas we are weaker in and there's possibly an argument to say that montano wasn't significantly better than Broom or certainly the potential for Broom to kick on this season. Based on the finishing squad, whilst cb was stronger with Sweeney, our striking options were probably worse as Nicholls looks better than easter and James. Our gk's look even bit as good as lumley too. So all in all I'd say our squad now isn't much weaker than at any point last season. 4 additions would certainly put us way beyond anything we had last season imo.

Tend to agree. We are now moving into loan territory. This time of year the majority of quality players are signed up to deals for next season (only two weeks away) leaving DC to wait and see what the bigger clubs are looking to loan out for the season. My concern is whether DC will be able to get the goal scorer we need; currently we have no goals in the team, which must be our biggest concern.
