Funny how we see things differently, i saw the vice chancellor's statement as a "come and get me" type call to any other interested parties who fancy building a sports venue with full planning permission.
I'm sure ideally in UWE's eyes it would be a full on athletics facility which isn't available locall y and a major asset for a uni. And, i hate to say it but maybe yet another arm to Bristol Sport. He can easily afford it, would be a popular scheme for west Country people and would be a further kick in the teeth to us. I personally feel we should get back round the table and see if a further compromise can be found. I'm pretty sure the application was put in by Bristol Rovers, so if the UWE want to build a stadium they will have to apply for a new planning application and all the fun that entails A valid point my learned friend. However - 'money talks' and when it comes to hard cash Mr Lansdown can chat the hind leg off a donkey. Plus, South Gloucs as you know would really like to get one up on Bristol City Council by actually getting something built!

I wouldn't put it past him either.

I can't get these horrible thoughts out of my head that the owners are planning to sell us off to the highest bidder. I keep imagining things like:
- they've tarted up the Mem a bit so the pitch is fit for use, added a new "stand" to increase capacity, and the bars, boardroom etc look a bit smarter to potential buyers
- they've bought a plot of land cheaply for the training ground but spent nothing on progressing it. However, they can sell proudly market the club as one owning its own training land
- they haven't given DC the budget he wanted because there is no point in spending squillions now when they're going to sell up tomorrow.
I hope to be proved very wrong in my negative mindset.

If Nick Higgs has not been paid off, will he be back soon before all the debts are against the stadium?!
