Honestly, matey. You're the most childish person on here. You're the one who started whining about some weird imaginary thought crime about your neighbour and calling it PC gone mad. It didn't even happen and you were blaming PC gone mad. Your posting is idiotic. You are a Mod ? Yeah. But my posts are my opinions and not the official position of Gas Chat. Just so you know, you're not officially a Gas Chat idiot.

Yup, which two bit Uni was it ? I'm bored of you now. We'll never agree because you can't tell what's racist, or not. bluebutterfly had it right when he said it's only racist if you make it that way, maybe you came on here today to see if you could wind people up - don't know if that's worked for you. As for being offended on behalf of other people, you'd have to ask them I suppose. Go back to your dot to dot book then, stop trying to talk platitudes with me.

When we dislike someone, its not because of their physical appearance, its usually part of their personality, morals (or lack of) or behaviour that we find abhorrent. People then feel the need to make it more vitriolic to refer to their skin colour, nationality or religious background. Why people feel the need to make reference to that I have no idea.
A few years a go I was in town with my brother in law who is from Jamaica, I witnessed and heard someone make a racist remark towards him, I was so incensed I comfronted the guy so angry at what I had just heard. My bro in law was calm, pulled me away and told me to let it go. When I asked him why he said that he was used to it, had heard worse and it was more hassle than what it was worth, even though I could tell he was upset by it.
That made me more angry, the fact that over the years, he has been used to hearing racial abuse, regardless of the connotation, implication or context behind it. Its plain wrong.
Anyone who thinks its just too PC to make casual remarks and insults and think they can be water off a ducks back are just narrow minded, infantile and stupid.

I can't be racist as I use a picture of uncle Ben as my avatar on WhatsApp, bloody love the bloke , I also love mr. T , mr. Motivator ( he looks great in spandex ) the butler from fresh prince of bel-air, the black guy from the green mile john coffee. I also have a black and white cat so that proves I want us all to be treated as equals. Michael Jackson said it best with his ballad " black or white"

Because people used (and some still do) the word 'Paki' as a derogatory term with overt racist connotations. Its the hate behind the words that makes them so toxic. But because people have used it as a derogatory word in the past, that doesn't necessarily mean it is intended in a derogatory way. In the example above, there is no hate behind the word, it is simply shortened the same as the other two nationalities are, would that make me a racist for using it? Because I know for a fact that I would be labelled one. People still use it now and yes you would be labelled as a racist for using the word knowing full well the history of it.

I have a black and white cat, I'm with you on this. My cat is just black. My wife's cat used to be black, but it's started greying around the edges now.

Once, just once it would be nice to read balanced arguments that respects all views regardless of whether offense is taken, where anger is taken out of it, with no finger pointing and no blame so that we can get a better understanding of how everyone has arrived at their opinions.
That way we'd have a fighting chance of making the world a better place.
Too much to expect I suppose.

Mix in a teaspoon of Twitter and a dash of anger and before you know it we have everything from religion, race, conspiracy theories and identity politics being shovelled everywhere. People lap it up. A football forum is always going to be a difficult place to deal with these issues reasonably due to the high chance of culture clash, but it could still be worthwhile providing it stays on topic.

This whole thread has gone massively off-topic (myself included so apologies for that).
Whether your opinion is that the world has gone "PC mad" or not, I'm sure this is not a case of that. All players will take some stick from their own fans and opposition fans at some point in their career. I'm sure that a number of the Rovers players took some stick on Saturday because of how poor the performance was, Ellis included. Ellis has without doubt taken more stick than any other Rovers player this last couple of years, I'm sure he or any fan is not now going to turn around and call someone racist just because they have given him some abuse about his performance. Therefore, I'm 90% certain that the racist claim is an accurate one.
Although it is disappointing that it wasn't reported and the fan ejected at the time, it is a positive sign that someone has now reported the incident to the club. Hopefully the club can identify the person and punish them accordingly (lifetime ban would be justified in my opinion).
