Personally I really don't think inflammatory political remarks should feature here one way or the other. I dont think it adds value and it winds people up, myself included. When you have a thread begin to de-rail and take a tangent it adds to the flow and fun of a forum but there's a limit to that and I don't know why mentioning black activists groups and the KKK is included in that tolerance. It's not a pedastool for saying whatever you please in the name of free speech not is it a forum for demonstration of rights, it's a football forum. It's all about context. You can take a crap wherever you want but by and large most try and do so in the bathroom having removed their trousers. It may be your right to say what you think but it's also a priveledge to use the forum and rules are there for a reason and are a shared acceptance of what should be a community platform. I use another forum and one of the rules there is no 1 line posts. It stops some of the bickering and nastiness. I think light hearted fun is a good thing to have and something gaschat does well but I think people are way too aggressive sometimes and it's just let go by the mods because with respect, you're reluctant to intervene. I assume because of 'free speech' and the risk of being accused of 'censorship' which are terms that are thrown around by disgruntled forumers whenever you have tried in the past. Eventually the lunatics run the asylum. The mods aren't respected enough here and as a result, nor are the rules and I think that's possibly a result of the hands off approach normally adopted. I'm sympathetic to that but as with everything there are often two polarities and some happy medium between them. I'm not falling in to the Stalinist category either. My view is that there should be more moderation here but of course in moderation. It's not a dig at mods, just my feedback should you wish to read it and I wouldn't have offered it had you not asked. Absolutely spot on. We have always tried to keep a very hands off approach and I think that freedom is becoming more frequently abused. Shame people can't moderate themselves a bit better to be honest.

A couple of warnings wouldn't go amiss for some of the pseudo-political hate-stirrers currently running rampant on your forum.

Just getting a vague idea about how much posters think mods should get involved with moving and deleting stuff. This isn't really a scientific way of finding out how we will mod, just a way to roughly gauge the feeling for mod involvement. Obviously this is more complex than can be reflected in a poll, so feel free to comment below. NB. this isn't a vote for the political system you favour, just the modding. politics, religion and a snake bung it straight in the trash can maaaaan

As I said on another thread, I don't like a certain leader of a certain political party but I would never stop him saying what he thinks is true. That my friend would be the beginning of the end. No doubt you don't feel the same ?

For me ...
Anyone using Song titles should be banned. Anyone getting political should be banned. Anyone cross referencing OTIB should be banned. Anyone starting multiple threads or posting to boost their thread numbers should be docked 1,000 thread credits Anyone using Genitalia references or Lady Garden equivalent speak should be banned. Bad jokes should see the poster banned. Criticism of the pasties at the Mem should be censured. If a thread already exists and someone starts a similar topic .... Ban ! Posters who cannot spell should be temporarily banned, a yellow card if you like and spelling test rehab offered. Posters who use 'Bristolian speak' such as 'Mind' Or the famous 'Ark at eeee' should be temporarily banned and offered a thesaurus ! Anyone using the words.... Ellis , 23 , potential , big , ahead , season in any order should be banned for the rest of the season.
Anyone left after that ... Enjoy the forum.

don't understand why pictures of naked, near-naked, or suggestive women are allowed on here.
makes it a Dam minefield of knowing if I dare look at the forum at home, or in public areas.
And on a higher level it's also pretty sexist and generally off putting. surely it could be easily stopped with some sort of posting filter?

No doubt you don't feel the same ? Dont give yourself the satisfaction of believing you are somehow telling secret truths mate, you're full of nonsense. I don't know what you are about but I think you're attitude is infantile and I will no longer be dignifying any of your posts by responding to them. Some people are best ignored in my opinion. I'd like to think you're a nice guy in reality and are just on the wind up or don't come across very well on the forum but honestly, I'm doubting.

That my friend is your choice. I wont give a run down on what I think of you as that would be silly from only reading a few lines.

Posters should have the freedom to post whatever they want ... provided that freedom is used in a manner which results in them posting only things I agree with.
I think that about sums up the last two pages.

Shouldnt there be a teresa may option where the mods keep changing and backing down from there moderation policies? The Corbyn one would be to vote against everything the club stands for as he has all his life in parliament. Wonder if he could gel a good team spirit. There's a lot of dissenters on this forum he could pll together and reform!!!

If I find the mods interfering with anyone, I'll report it to the Police.

Arguing with some of the idiots on here is like playing chess with a pigeon....No matter how good you are the bird is gonna sh**e on the board and strut around like it chuffkin won anyway!
