Wouldn't it be nice if our chairman gave us a statement with some positive news for a change? Like him Dam off and us getting a proper one

Totally agree. There's a world of difference between a natural goal celebration and the antics of those brain dead morons you describe. It's just so cowardly to shove someone in the back or to continuously try to irritate while in a gang of mates. I haven't come across that sort of behaviour since my school days and it's hard to believe one gashead would do that to another gashead at the Mem. Sad thing is if you front them up you become a target for the rest of the game and are in threat of getting whacked. As I have witnessed on more than one occasion everyone being Gasheads on the Thatchers End means nothing to certain groups - they will bully and fight anyone for fun sadly. it was the same at tote end and poplar side it’s just kids being kids,if I stood in blackthorn end I would just avoid that area We were all kids once

I don't see the problem with the request, don't let off flares, don't push people about, and if a steward asks you to shuft, don't argue, just comply. Especially when elf and safety are about. I think the problem is that it took an inspection to identify some of these issues. Surely it's not hard to spot people stood in gangways if people are doing there job? Or is that the real issue?

"pushing people for fun".....
Imagine this happening in the west enclosure.... There would be Werther's originals flying everywhere, someone could end up losing an eye....

Best post on this thread by a country mile. Perfectly clear statement and still the usual moaners attack the Chairman. Makes you wonder what their motives are. The good thing is that the consistent attackers are being called out on it rather than just spouting their sh** to everyone on every social media platform possible.

Same on Facebook plenty are also saying the same thing and I guess they are of the younger generation. I went though the life transition of the Tote end - started at the front and worked myself back and to the left (from pitch side) as I got older and went more to away games and fitted in with the boys. I was a smoothie at the time and football violence was a way of life. Yes we did the Hokey Cokey, yes there were surges when we scored - when your feet wouldn't touch the ground as you were carried !! Yes we all jumped up and down to the chant of nah nah nah nah nah nah - We are the Tote end, boot boys. People watered through their programmes and people got 'pleasured' on the Tote end in some cases whether they wanted to or not !!! Horses were on the Tote end - sharpened coins made into Kung-fu stars and darts were thrown along with policemen helmets and toilet rolls. You learnt how to look after yourself especially when you had to 'share the Tote End' with the likes of Villa, Westham and Fulham for example but more so outside of the ground. All very much removed from football these days. I still jump around when we score and grab the person next to me to go wild with whether I know them or not !!! sing to every song and will always go to the Thatchers End as my viewing choice but whether it's age or lack of tolerance, who knows, but sorry, I just can't stand those constant deliberate 2 handed pushes in the back from some bored twat who just wants to wind other Gasheads up for fun. End of rant. Come on The Gas - beat Oxford and our season suddenly looks very different. Really do feel this is a match we need to win to see how far we have come as Oxford are a good side and have made some decent accuistions. Sercombe hat-trick would be nice with no Gas sending offs!!

I can't understand some people. Why do people feel the need to stand in an area which is hatched off to ensure people's safe entry and exit onto the terraces? Sometimes it is a right nightmare getting up and down the Dribuild steps because idiots stand right in the way. I'm young and very able and I've almost fell down the steps due to how crowded it gets on the steps. It's ridiculous. Someone elderly or less able will end up seriously hurt at some point. Annoying thing is a steward was actually contributing to this at a game not so long ago never mind actually doing something about it. Well done Steve Hamer for calling this behaviour out.
As for flares/smoke bombs/grenades whatever they look very nice but they can leave people feeling very unwell. They shouldn't be subject to that.
Overzealous celebrating? I'm sure 99% of us are fine and it's the minority who are shoving others around.

Haven't our club been warned before about smoke bombs or flares? Why risk the punishments? And why risk your own or another persons health? This is just 1 example where smoke bombs have caused issues: www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/local-news/crackdown-use-flares-football-matches-5744642 In May, a 15-year-old lad was taken to hospital with lung damage from a smoke bomb while watching Aston Villa play Wigan at the DW Stadium in the final game of the season, A number of flares and smoke bombs were set off among the away fans. At one point a smoke bomb was thrown onto the pitch - resulting in a short delay to the match. The teenager affected struggled to breathe and felt burning to his eyes. The following day he continued to feel ill at school and was taken to hospital. Chest x-rays revealed he was suffering the effect of smoke inhalation and had suffered damage to his lungs. Anyone who thinks its clever, acceptable or even funny to bring this into the ground is . Also, anyone who thinks pushing others in the back (with FULL force) into other fans, which creates a surge of people being pushed and some I know have got crushed into railings or even fell over and trampled on, is also a . Saying things like "well don't stand there then" is totally unacceptable. People should know that they will be safe wherever they watch from. If nothing gets done, then its just a matter of time when we will have a mini Hillsborough on our hands. Is that what you want? Of course not. Then lets grow up and act in a sensible manner. Yes, celebrate when we score and win. You can do this without the need to push people with both hands with full force. How some don't understand this, I will never know! www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/24754903www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-35402735
