Colony is on track owned by Dwane Colony which is an offshore company which means there are additional tax issues that they have been working through, expect to be all sorted by February Sorry but think this is trying to buy more time ! Surely can't take this long to sort this out ? Buying more tim to make up more excuses? What would the point in doing that be? It would just get us more frustrated and harm relations even more between support and ownership/off the pitch management. We have to have faith or we will go mad.

The point was made that the further up we go it is all about the TV money and capacity is less important (as per Brentford) so unlikely I would have thought That's a good point to be fair but to be honest a bigger stadium would entice more fans Not if the football is crap it won't!

Although if we're going down the stand by stand route it could be a decade before it's finally completed.

Tax only becomes an issue if The Colony makes a profit, which it isn't going to do before February. Regardless what's stopping them seeking pp now even if building doesn't start until next year. It does sound like its an excuse just to buy time when a month ago seeking pp was imminent.

They said what you would expect them to say which basically rubbishes the rumors (but nothing new that hasn't been said before) Family in it for the long run Dwane sports own the club Colony is on track owned by Dwane Colony which is an offshore company which means there are additional tax issues that they have been working through, expect to be all sorted by February SH pushing for 18k minimum stadium but hopefully 20k Expect to be constructed stand by stand so no need to move out during construction Thanks for the post. With regard to the bit about the training ground - can we can expect just the tax issues to be sorted by February, or the ground itself?

Well, I'll be surprised if work actual starts in February as another reason for delay will almost certainly arise.

I imagine it has to be something to do with VAT. The club or DS will be instructed to pay VAT on anything to do with the colony as it's in the U.K. DS or DC is offshore so pays no VAT.
That can create a massive headache as I well know having deal with clients that live in tax havens and HMRC is quick to try to penalise but bog slow to give you clearance or authority to operate because every U.K. Based client will charge you VAT on services or products.
VAT is a minefield and a complete ball ache.
It won't be stamp duty or anything to do with the purchase of the land, that has to be paid regardless

Why would they want to "Con" us, to what end ?? I am being Facetious Henbury.
People seem quick to say all sorts of things about money being pulled, Colony not happening. Hani doesn't want us. Wael is a kid in a sweet shop being rained in by others in the family etc, 6% etc
If all these things are/were true, than someone, somewhere is going to a lot of effort to deceive the fans. Why add all the back room staff? Why appoint a high flying new commercial guy? why spend 18 months trying to do a deal with UWE etc. That would be an awful lot of work for what reward?

I guessed that may be your post but with some of the crap being put on here about beloved owners you never know ! I'm still a firm believer in what they are trying to achieve, but the club was/is still in such poor state of the field its going to take a bit longer than people want Rome/the Henbury loop line/metro link was not built in a day

Genuine question - why is there a Dwane Sports and a Dwane Colony. - both registered in Jersey? Dwane Colony registered in January almost a month before The Colony announcement was made public. Presumably it 'ring fences' both Companies and are both separate entities? Perhaps we can expect another Company soon - Dwane Stadium. - registerd in Jersey? All part of a much bigger picture developing me thinks!!

" Perhaps there's a job going for you at the club if you're interested!
