It pains me to say it but the standard of rumour-mongering on this forum is in sharp decline. Hopefully this is just a blip and is not terminal.
Think you're missing the pint Corrected that for you

Isn't Ed Ware's company also attempting to get planning permission for 100's of houses on the land adjacent to the land the ALQ's have bought at Almondsbury? Is this just a pure coincidence or is there some subtle link between the two?

Heard (or maybe made up) that someone heard somebody who knows someone else say something about something.
Either that or Bristol Sport have bought us as a Rugby League venue, with WWE every other Thursday.

Had a very interesting conversation with a close friend of an ex Director. He's convinced that a certain Developer is looking at a takeover with a view to building a number of homes on the Mem site and is still in talks with UWE. I know there's been lots of rumours and BS flying around so I was genuinely interested to see if anyone else had heard anything similar?

Think you're missing the point I was attempting to use humour to point out that a story stands less chance of gaining credence when the source is revealed as a bloke in the pub following the consumption of a scoop or seven. Never mind fella, carry on, I'm all ears.

Ever. So it wasnโt me.

I did make a point of saying that I was in a pub and had been drinking in the original and subsequent posts for this very reason but hey, who gives a f**k anyway ๐ Have a lovely evening

A small amount of research shows a huge link between student accommodation ( The Digs letting agency), The UWE and a certain ex director of said agency who happens to own a housing development company. All hearsay of course

I get the feeling he is trying to "out" the current owners as he doesn't believe that they intend to develop anything anytime soon.

Think you are right Holmes, these concerns were pretty much what BSS conveyed a few weeks ago- he believes that serious questions and pressure needs to be put on the AlQ's as he couldn't see anything being built in the future.

Interesting comments from BSS. Has he given up on assembling a consortium himself? He didn't mention much more, I would consider myself to have become a reasonable friend with Brian over the years and I was having a chat and thanking him for his work and effort before stepping down from the board and he then basically came right out with what I would call honest personal opinions. It has left me questioning what is going on and what is planned for the future. This was the week that he stepped down, perhaps he saw that as the trigger allowing him to finally speak his mind!

It does make you wonder what the ALQ's are really up to when two ex Directors are now raising concerns!

Anyway it's all a bit worrying we now have two ex Directors questioning what the ALQ's plans are for the club.

there doesn't seem to be a plan. nothing is going on at all. All a bit dissapointing. When will the current board come out and actually make a statement regards infrastructure projects.
