Trouble which ever site we build a stadium on it will cost in the region of 40m. Surely there are none of us left who think the family still intend investing that sort of cash! perhaps you should advertise us in Billionaire monthly and sell the 'opportunity' of blowing millions of your own money into a football club Perhaps the Al Qadis could announce that, like a puppy bought for Christmas they don't actually have the means to look after us and are willing to let us go to someone who can give this club the level of finance it deserves and needs? Didn't Mike Ashley publicly declare Newcastle was for sale before a buyer was found? In fact you laugh about billionaires monthly but did Higgsy himself not advertise us in gulf news or whatever the hell it was? You have to show an appetite to bring in the investment needed and it doesn't appear that anything of the sort is being done by the Al qadis. Of course they could be beavering away behind the scenes right now working on a multi million pound deal to get some investors on board for a new stadium but given the rather Keystone Cops way they have gone about things so far I wouldn't trust them to successfully organise a water up in a brewery. Just put the club up for sale and admit that you haven't got anywhere near the resources to bring this club into the 21st century.

This, ^^^ this all the way. The site is more than up to the job. What's more it's not near any other out-of-town stuff. The original Mem upgrade plan had stands with spaces underneath for accoms, a gym and a shop. This could easily happen. One stand could be the Al Qadi's hotel. Even 'one stand at a time', as Hamer said, could be configured for facilities needed to raise additional revenues. Although I do still wonder if the Al Qadis are exploring other sites as well; with the Mem sold for housing. It's worth £20m+ for housing. The money ported to a cheaper less fashionable site with fewer planning implications [i.e. brownfield] Trouble which ever site we build a stadium on it will cost in the region of 40m. Surely there are none of us left who think the family still intend investing that sort of cash! Probably a lot more than £40million on the mem site. A stadium will be built. The club was bought with the intention of a new stadium (and the knowledge the Sainsbury deal had collapsed) There would be no point in buying BRFC paying out £12m without having a plan to get the money back. The lame proposal of letting the club go bust and then sell the mem site is just that, lame. They would just be getting their money back...so why bother in the first place ?
Is there any proof the Al Qadi family will not raise £40+ to build a new stadium complex ?

The originator of this post puts his views across in a constructive way and makes some valid points, but i believe that if you ask a lot of life long Rovers fans what made them become supporters in the first place, instead of the other historically more successful other lot, they would answer thus'because i always root for the underdog'!and i believe there are still many fans of the future who will feel like wise. We have to ask 'what kind of club do we want to be ? Do we want to be like the other money driven lot and join the selfish, greedy culture of the premiership at all cost? paying obscene wages for very average players whos names we cant pronounce or spell and have absolutely no connection with our culture or area?as far as i am concerned give me one young lad who comes up through the ranks against a thousand of these football mercenaries any day of the week. Those who cast envious eyes south of the river would do well to remember they have traveled that path before, suffice to say that should present day financial rules have been in force back then they would have been deducted so many points they would now be playing in Ashton park instead of Ashton gate! On the underdog theme Man utd world wide fan base was built on tragedy , i e Munich and it should be noted that the most successful top tier club to date built their team around half a dozen boys who came up through the ranks and had Man Utd blood running through them!it is interesting to note that the culture aint the same there now, and nor are the results! I like many others was upset when we fell into the national league but because we followed Darrell's advice and embraced the experience it was enjoyable. had we not embraced it and adopted a holier than thou attitude we would still be there now, it was rewarding to witness the dedication of fans at that level, something fans of the other lot and those in the promised land could never understand. when the present owners took over i was of two minds ,pleased that we may have the cash to complete uwe, with or without Sainsbury, but concerned we would lose our unique identity aka Cardiff and mr Tann ,Hull and many others.Happy to note that things are very much as before,! bit of a mixed bag! A figure head who is a football fan and committed gas head, face less dw sports who would ply there trade at any club and have no feel for Rovers, but are prob astute business people and concluded UWE was unviable and lets be fair, it wouldn't have been ours would it? we dont want to be tenants again do we !The prev board, while committed rovers fans , were not , in my opinion , capable of making sensible financial decisions and wasted millions on surveys, consultants, appeals and the like, and the present lot are not about to do the same.Where does that leave us? Historically we are in our rightful place in the pyramid, where would i like us to be? negative though it may sound i would like us to be a competitive championship club with a decent ground no more ,no less, anything higher and we would lose that culture that made us follow rovers in the first place, it may sound strange but a lot of Gas heads will understand exactly what i mean!Protest not for me, though ,,the pie situation needs resolving, ,and communications could certainly be a lot better, as could the pa system! and so on ,but as for banners and the like, just have a chat to those responsible, Talk, you know it makes sense!
