As far as I know DC has not given a cast iron guarantee that he would bring in 3 or 4 players this window.
As far as I know the January window is not over yet so he can't be judged on what business he has our hasn't done yet.
He expressed his preference to making permanent signings in lieu of loans but said he might have to dip into the loan market in the last week if things don't work out.

cc52, If you are going to Quote me then at least get the facts right. I have never wanted Darrell gone however I am also far from an "In DC we trust" which you obviously are. I respect him for the job that he has done but that does not mean that I have to accept everything he says and does like some. It wasn't me who said I would bring 3-4 players in before the Blackpool game and its wasn't Hani or Hamer or even Wael. All the excuses that come out now were present when he said what he would do. He keeps on about us performing above ourselves but there are plenty of teams in worst situations than us. How many Managers were given £300,000 to sign a player in the summer? DC has done a brilliant job but may struggle to get us beyond where he has taken us.If you believe that he has good contacts then that's fair enough, that's your prerogative. I agree with this, but would add that just keeping us where we are is a hell of an achievement given what he has to work with at the moment. It is sad to say but had we got the true worth of Bodin and Taylor in transfer fees then things might be looking a bit different. As it is, the bloke will have to work his magic once again on promising players from a lower level, and we all know that the results will not be immediate. DC is clearly the best bloke for the job at the moment, in my view and we need to be realistic about the bigger picture at the club and be patient with him.

And if you are going to quote me, where have I said I believe Darrel has good contacts? As for the signing of Nichols it hasn’t worked out, that is plainly obvious to all. You see you just cannot help yourself can you? Which manager would be able to drag this football club up two divisions on a shoestring and take us up again with little recruitment? People like you are dangerous to managers because you keep playing to the tune of the doubters. If we are in a relegation battle come late March/ April will you call for a change of manager?

Problem is whenever DC does well we sell one of his best players, so just treading water becomes a battle. As far as his comments before the Blackpool game he actually said he hoped to bring in 2 or 3 not 3 or 4, he did bring in one and was apparently turned down by another one so he nearly did do as he'd hoped. Transfer have now dropped to a trickle so Div 1 & 2 so it seems likely every club is waiting until next week. Although I don't really get you negativity about DC as you must know damn well that if he left history suggests we'll employ somebody far inferior and it'll most likely be MS who as even less contacts.
