Actions speak louder than words and until we actually sign somebody who can actually say whether this is just words or actual discussions. Last week you were moaning about not enough communication from the club on transfers Make up your f*cking mind for for f*ck sake.

Lots of people buying into some kind of conspiracy theory from DC about the owners. I reckon DC just likes to cause havoc and misdirection when he does an interview. He leads the interviewer on, knows the fans are looking in and thinks this is my time in the week when I can have a bit of fun. I think the players will be having a sweepstake on how many times he says “no, yes”, “tbh with you”, “these players are over-achieving” and others. I love listening to him now he’s stopped being grumpy like he was before Christmas, he is very entertaining. But I don’t honestly think that when he says he’s hoping to bring in 11 new players or 4 new players that I ever believe him. His comment about hoping to get 2 in during the next few days was more specific so it’s a good chance it will happen. But some of the throw-a-way lines are just taking the mickey out of the interviewer. DC knows what’s coming and just puts up a smokescreen. Brilliant, he’s even more entertaining than Mourinho! With DC you know he loves the fans and the club with Mourinho he just loves himself. Keep entertaining us Darrell. UTG!

I find it so odd.
On the one hand many fans keep calling DC a super honest manager that doesn’t mince his words.
On the other- they continually infer the true meaning behind what he is saying...

If he just wants to keep fans happy why didn't just say in December what he's now saying, the salary cap means we can't go mad but he's getting full support from the passionate people above him, instead of ranting on about he can't keep overachieving and money must be spent on the infrastructure etc plus he's only still here for the fans. It seemed to me an attempt to force the owners hand to give him more money in January which by his latest interviews seems to have worked (fingers cross for next week!).

I didn’t say he wants to keep the fans happy, I said he was entertaining and likes to cause a bit of havoc with some misdirection and that I don’t necessarily believe all he says. He’s a top bloke! UTG!

Liked the interview very much. DC sounds confident about 2 quality players. Agree with him about players returning to form. Finger always on the pulse - 3pts behind where we were this time last season. And realistic comments about his budget - all relevant to each team's standing. All staff pulling behind the club. I sense we can have a good finish to the season especially if these new players really add to the squad quite significantly. Who knows might even risk another away game this season

2 Permanents plus 2 loans in addition to Mensah would be a successful window . Just a shame that we go another Saturday game with what we have when Doncaster is a very winnable game. if we can get through Saturday unscathed then with these signings it could make a big difference to our season. only time will tell if any of these "deep discussions" lead to signings. As I always say Actions speak louder than words and until we actually sign somebody who can actually say whether this is just words or actual discussions. Why signings should always go to the last week is beyond me if a player is keen on coming rather than treating us as a last resort. So if the signings dont happen dc is wrong to even talk about them? It seems to me hes telling us fans the exact state of play but explaining it could go wrong. Whats wrong with that?

"I'll be very frustrated, angry and disappointed if we don't get these 2 more in." Interesting. Did you just stop listening when DC said that, as towards the end of the interview he explained to the other reporter it wasn't down to just finance if the two players didn't eventually sign. He also said the people behind the scenes are passionate when it comes to supporting the club. No I heard that as well. I don't get the point you are trying to make Topper. Please explain?

Yous better with words than me GGMI, but i think yer on th money here. Th interviews etc Dc has had over last few months have all seemed to carry a kinda cryptic message ta th owners which gets many of us thinking, is it any wonder folk are grabbin conspiracies, DC is kinda fuellin them.. FWIW i thinks he's trying ta speak on behalf of th supporters an is just sayin "C'mon board, we know yer trying yer best but lets get on with it FFS!" Perhaps the cryptic messages, and the not so cryptic ones on here etc, have worked and Hani realises he does need to spend a bit of money this January, if so, fare play to DC for being cryptic and, fingers crossed, Hani for backing him. It could be an interesting last week of the transfer window. DC is the manager. Why does he need to be Dam cryptic?
He clearly is closeish to Wael (pictures of them hanging out). I am sure DC will tell Wael and Hmer straight.
It's up to Wael and HAmer to convince Dwane Sports for money.
If HAni isn't interested in football I doubt he pays attention to DC interviews let alone veiled and cryptic bloody messages
People make me laugh. He is a football manager. all football managers want more money and more players.

So why was DC so negative in his pre-Christmas interviews? I doubt being close to Wael counts for a lot TBH when it's clearly Hani holding the purse strings, hence why DC keeps repeating the comments about people at the club being passionate but never says the same about the owner(s)!! it's nonsense to say Hani is not interested in Rovers as they must be a significant part of the ALQ business empire.

I am not saying Hani isn't interested, it's everybody else isn't it repeating it. That said I doubt Hani is swayed by DC having little digs in the media.
Why was DC negative?. Maybe he was having a bad time? Maybe as people say he gets bored of the same Dam questions every week
Why does he seem happier now?
if Wael and Hamer can't convince Hani to spend any money when DC is talking to them constantly, I doubt DC having a whinge to the local paper/radio is going to do much.
DC is a passionate bloke clearly and I say with respect a moody sod at times. Bit like me at times with the wife

Australia day tomorrow: Ex Central Coast Mariner. Don't think League one is what he'll be looking for leading up to the World Cup. I did ask him before the last world cup if he'd come back to The Mariners. He laughed.
