Sure it's a good selection headache to have but who does Clarke pick as his centre back pairing going forward? Tom Broadbent is in great form at the moment and surely undroppable, Tony Craig is a leader and organiser who has tremendous experience and has come here to play games and Tom Lockyer is our captain and Welsh international who was coming into good form before his injury. Not to mention Ryan Sweeney who is a good centre half on his day and could reignite the form of last season and James Clarke when he returns from injury who is also a decent player for this division in my opinion. The other option could be to play a back three and use Leadbitter and Bola as wingbacks.

Broadbent has made himself an automatic selection and Lockyer has been back to his best recently

A good problem for DC to have with so many options in defence. My guess is that when Lockyer orcSweeney come in he could also play Craig at full back

Great to see Brown back and bombing down that left hand side plenty of times in those highlights too. Creates so many attacks for us and a good crosser of the ball.

Team cohesion over anything else. Locks and Broadbent have been on superb form and Locks is our captain, so Craig still has to battle for his spot.
Reputation is good and all, but I like to think DC runs a ship where curriculum matters, but not as much as form and link.
Also, love James, but he's a fringe player at the moment. Maybe he can impress and take Sweeney's spot on the bench but I think his limit is nearing. (Will ***gladly*** eat my words though)

Craig and Broadbent for me, especially since Locks is injured! What a find Tom Broadbent has been. By far and away our best defender at the moment IMO.

Well there's lots of choices!
Assuming Lockyer isn't out for too long I don't think we will see much more of Sweeney this season and I doubt he will be back after the summer. Same with Bola. Lockyer can also cover right back in the same way Craig can play left back.
A lot of people have not only forgotten about James Clarke, but don't think he will get much of a look in when back. Remember that he was first choice right back for our first game of the season! He can also play center back, although I think he only really did that when we played three at the back.

There is no doubt that DC will want to play TC, TB and TL as they are all a class above the competition. I think he will play TL and TB at centreback with TC at left back, possibly even right back with Leads out again. TC was brought in because he can do more than one job. TL’s injury was put him at CB but he can as well play full back.

What stig said! Good job Mayonese is out on loan otherwise the poll would have been longer with even more choices! 🤔 UTG!

I think James Clarke is a better full back than Partington so I expect him to be in the team soon enough (when fit) at right back, at least while Leads is out

Lockyer will be straight back in, even if he has to play him full back or midfield, guaranteed

I assume this is a vote for the next game rather than for the whole season. When Lockyer returns and is match fit he will no doubt sit on the bench first match but then most likely walk straight back into the first team alongside Tony Craig. I see Broadbent and Menayese filling in when Lockyer is either injured or playing for Wales. Also for when there are a lot of games over a short period of time allowing a fitter team to play each match. Tony Craig may also not play midweek games allowing maximum recovery time for an older player. Sweeney most likely will not feature much more as plans have to start evolving for next season now.

I disagree about Broadbent. I think it is very obvious that Clarke rates him very highly. I think it's more likely as of now that Craig would drop to the bench, but Craig may just make himself unstoppable in the meantime. I have no idea what DC will do when Locks is back but I think they will all feature heavily. Sweeney has had his moments this year, including a couple of vital goals against Blackpool and Doncaster. But yes, he seems unlikely to get much more of a look in.
