Simple Question to the Mods... If ND asked you to remove the tread, would you or would you state "freedom of speech" bullshit ? No one has stated freedom of speech, so you're the one bringing the bullshit.

How do any of you who are "expressing concern" know that any issues aren't caused by ill health rather than vice versa?
You can say "just looking out for your wellbeing" all ypu want but what if his response was "Thanks but I have type 1 diabetes and an under-active thyroid which will ultimately shorten my lifespan so I couldn't lose weight if I wanted to. Couple that with the steroids I'm on for Giant Cell Arteritis and my life is a misery but thanks for calling me fat out of 'concern'".
Mind your own businesses.

I read the OP as genuine concern for the bloke. It's certainly noticeable, and it was mentioned again on Tues where I was stood, that he's looks and sounds like he's going to 'throw a 7' at any given time whilst walking around the pitch.
I'm aware he's been off a bit recently, so hoping if it was illness related he's now on the mend.

What the f**k is this thread? Seriously. I reported it to the mods as soon as it was posted last night but it looks like one of them is joining in with this sh1t. Nick is a volunteer at the club not a player. Keep your personal comments to yourselves or let's have a look at what shape you're in and what your vices are. I'm afraid, as mods, we can't and have no desire to stop conversation about public figures from the match day, and it would be ridiculous for us to try, in any case. We have to rely on the good sense and integrity of all the board users. Yeah, I know. That's incongruous with forum rules about personal attacks. Seeing as the guy isn't here to comment for himself (although I believe he is a member). He's hardly in the public eye he is a match day volunteer much the same as the female physio we had who received similar threads on this forum.

No one has made a personal attack, but raised concerns as to his health and ability to carry on as PA given his lack of appearances recently and very clear struggles on tuesday night.

Lovely guy but he doesn’t look in the best of shape. Overweight and a smoker, no wonder he is out of breath. Perhaps a visit to the dr and a lifestyle change is in order.

It's not incongruous with the main thrust of the forum which is generally irreverent and, to a degree, full of crap. I think I've said this before, but we're not here to dispatch righteous justice to the letter of the forum of rules, and we're not here to be invoked by individual posters for their particular idea of exactly what we're supposed to do, we're just here to make the place slightly less unpleasant at our discretion, while annoying as few people as possible.

To be 'Devils advocate' here, no-one is making derogitory comments about Nick they are merely concerned about his well being so in some respects their comments are positive. On the other side of the coin I am sure Nick has got a mirror in his house and knows he is carrying more timber than he should. Like someone said, he may have a medical condition that prevents him losing weight but then again he may be like me and eats more than he should and finds it difficult to lose weight because of weak will-power! Either way, maybe open discussions about someones personal issues probably isn't best discussed on this forum. How would we feel if it was about us? If you wanted to say something along the lines that he is crap at being an announcer (which he isn't by the way) then maybe that is 'football related' but as we are not asking him to play up front for us maybe we should draw a line under this and get back to the football issues. Just saying.

I’m sure Nick knows his position and doesn’t need a forum full of people making sly remarks because they’re “concerned”.

Fully Agree with your comments Like Nick Day i was in a situation not unlike Nick, being overweight, with diabetes etc and i was at rock bottom with my self esteem. i looked for professional help which is more available now than some 14 years ago when i first started on this life journey. I won't bore you will the gory details but it was bloody hard work and took toll on my personal situation at the time. I lost 12 stone in weight and now have diet control diabetes and i'm in a happier place. The Moral of the story is that you have to hit rock bottom before YOU decide to do something about it. I hope Nick is getting help and i wish him all the very best for the future, i but can assure you the road is long, often with many turns in it and not without some pot holes on the way, but with guidance you can navigate it and get to the place you want to be Please don't judge Nick by what he looks like but by the man himself Rant over

A good mate of mine was always over weight, enjoyed the beer and lots of grub, ended up being 24 stone a diabetic. He's also a big Man U fan and one day he couldn't get through a turnstile at Old Trafford. That was his trigger, he was slimming worlds man of the year a few years back after dropping over 13 stone and is the happiest and healthiest he has ever been.

I'm sorry. You said we could say what we like about white british males, so I did, as a joke (as a white british male myself). I guess you didn't really mean it or you didn't get it, or something.
