You do wonder if it's a two way thing and the fans support is now encouraging the players to put their bodies on the line. Players like Parkes & Lockyer have really only witnessec doom & gloom at Rovers, whilst players like Sinclair & Taylor are suddenly finding themselves cheered on by thousands rather than hundreds of fans.
Long may it continue.

There is less anxiety/dread about a poor start to a game; decrease in anxiety/concern meant I hardly looked at this site over the weekend because all was well with the world.

So heres the biggie. Would you rather be pushing for promotion here or fighting relegation in league two?

A good season will carry good feelings and the team spirit into the new one. Not sure what I'm trying to say exactly, freshers week has killed me, but hopefully you'll get the point.

It's easier to push for promotion from a lowly spot in League 2 than it is to get out of the Conference. The feel-good factor is great at the moment but god forbid another three or four years like it might not seem so great, and the promotion run would start to feel more like desperation than success.

Some of the workers at the club lost their job due to relegation last year. The conference is not where I want to be.i would have preferred to be in league 2. We should always aim high and never settle.

So heres the biggie. Would you rather be pushing for promotion here or fighting relegation in league two? Definitely would have preferred to have been in L2 but if we do well this season, I feel it could be a bit of a turning point for the club. It will get the feel good factor back, build some confidence around the place which we could use in L2 next season and all that being done by a team who want to wear the shirt and being led by a passionate man. I doubt any of this would have happened if we were fighting relegation again, albeit in a league above.

I think that maybe we are starting to see some green shoots appearing, which wouldn't have happened if we'd once again avoided relegation last season.

But if we get to league 2 it will be after a good season, staying in league 2 for poo season after poo season would have kept us there for a lot longer in my opinion than when we get promoted from here. edit: theres actually censorship for words ooo.

We've barely been in the top 10 in our own division, let alone the one above. Only because we have had a poor start. This team over 40 odd games would finish top ten easy. I don't think there is that much of a difference in the standard of conference to lg2 anyways.

edit: theres actually censorship for words too. Yeah, some words are filtered and altered automatically. "Relegation" is automatically changed to "Promotion" "Sack the" becomes "Cheer on the" "worst Rovers squad I've seen in 49 years following this club" changes to "I think DC is building a team for the future" Of course the same rules apply on the IF, but in reverse.

I think what we`re seeing is players who have worked their way up the non leagues, know what it is to be amateur/part time, and are now really appreciating being professional footballs, and realise how privileged they are. Yesterday, seeing them all working so hard, and putting their bodies on the line for the cause, was a joy to see. Long may it continue. This I can't imagine Lee Mansell, Matty Taylor or Stu Sinclair giving an interview about wanting to leave just before the biggest (league status at stake) game in the clubs history. JJOT always talked about wanting to be higher than league two, and for all the clubs that were apparently chasing him, he has gone to Northampton who limped past us at the end of last season. I would rather watch players giving their all who are proud to wear the shirt, winning games in the Conference than tossers picking up their paycheck and losing in league two. The attitude of the players brought in has been one of my favourite things about DC as manager.

Be interesting to see how everyone feels if we lose a few, threads like this are all very well on a 4 in a row winning run, time will tell, still a long way to go, going in the right direction at last, lets hope it lasts. Up the Gas.

Agree with everything on here now. We really have the "feel good" factor back and when you're playing well and winning a few games the odd defeat is so much easier to take. yes to most of this thread but I still think we need to reserve judgement yet on away form. one win vs Lincoln doesn;t suddenly make away form good. a loss at Southport would get some hackles up again. and/or eastleigh.
