This idea of having small players or the idea that we are being done for being not physical enough is strange. Go onto the Oxford and Rochdale forums just after we beat them a week ago and they accused us of being a big, physical side who play in a robust style! I reckon it’s all about perception and us fans trying to find reasons to explain or blame following a defeat, just like other fans! UTG!

Yesterday's starting XI contained seven players over 6ft, one player at 5ft 11in and one at 5ft 10in.

How about going for Oztumer of Walsall i9n the summer and starting with this team next season! Smith James Clarke Lockyer Craig Bola Moore Oztumer Sinclair Bennett Nicholls Telford I thought of this at Wimbledon last week and feel that we really lack physicality in our team! It is a joke by the way although I am serious that we do lack physicality in all areas of the pitch. Or just as realistically, Barry Hayles, he's still available, whereas Oztumer won't be. Not at a sensible price anyway. I’m sure I read somewhere he’s out of contract in the summer

Best player on the Park yesterday was their 19 it’s about the talent and a few bruisers at the back. What you talking about Willis!😂 Their no 6 Ojo was the best player on the pitch IMHO. They signed him from Willem II in the Dutch Eredivisie in the summer. A former Belgium U21. Hardly misplaced a pass, made a few interceptions and his positional sense was excellent. Bu I think we had the best defender on the pitch, Tom Lockyer, and the best forward, Ellis Harrison, don't you think ?

TBF It is not just in the height department that we are lacking we are also lacking pace a few flair players and a regular goal scorer. The fact is we have not got the best team in this division player for player, but between DC and the team spirit we are competing near the top end. It would be great to have players with all the attributes, but they cost money and even if we produced them they would probably be lured away. At the end of the day we might not always be great to watch but you can't fault the effort of the lads. Yep - we've lost a massive dose of flair in the last 12 months with Taylor and Bodin going and although still early days, Nichols and Bennett are a big step below them. That's what worries me about our club's progress looking ahead.

He played as a centre back and won most of his headers and got his positioning right to block a Harrison header in the 6 yard box.

I'd agree with this. Shame if we ever get to the day when all teams are 6 foot+ 14 stone+ musclemen. Like American Football? No place for small guys. Read the post for God's sake Bluebutterfly what I said is that I prefer players with a physical side to their game and Telford has that and he's neither 6 foot nor 14 stone plus. IMO you don't go far in this league without some physical strength on the ball and in challenges. You can be short and still have these attributes. Have a couple of early nights see if it helps. Your showing signs of butterfly paranoid syndrome.

His acceleration was awesome!

I’m sure I read somewhere he’s out of contract in the summer Yes he’s a very good player but do we need another central midfielder? Liam S is often played wide yet his best place is central imo. I’d rather play what we have in their best places rather than think about signing more similar type players. Part of the dilemma at the moment is getting the right balance from what we’ve got, not sure we need more of the same. UTG! ps I reserve the right to change my mind after seeing tomorrow’s game!!😉

Well! Modric is probably the best and most influential player in the World Cup so far and he's not that big.
