Rovers 2 -1 Wigan 9,456 I thought I'd read somewhere that Wigan had sold out of their allocation.....Maybe I'd dreamt it!! Who remembers Wigan away back in the 80's when the game got called off as we got to the ground due to heavy rain. Then for the rearranged game, the supporters coach broke down on the way up on a Tuesday night. They had the grass embankment for an away end and some Rovers fans were kicking a plastic bucket around for the most of the game. It's amazing what crap you can remember from back in the day. I was there for that game, sat in the pub finishing off my pint when someone came in saying it was off. Everyone thought he was joking at first, but soon became clear he wasn't. Rovers fans then got into Springfield Park and ran around a bit, before Gerry and the players came out for a chat, and to try and get us all to leave ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Fortunately didn't go to the re-arranged game, but a few mates who were at the original game did, and went on the supporters coach

I remember a game back in the 90's when we had FOUR players sent off and lost 3-0 at Springfield Park. Wigan also had one sent off. www.independent.co.uk/news/football-five-sent-off-as-rovers-go-wild-at-wigan-1286618.html?amp

I remember us beating them 6-1 at Twerton when I was a kid. I think it was Billy Oceans home Debut and he got a hat trick. Might have also been the game when Joner scored from the left side of the halfway line.
