Don’t waste your breath lincsblue. Midland may as well be a shithead ‘not so secret’ agent. DC is up there with the best managers that we’ve ever had. If he was perfect and didn’t make mistakes though he wouldn’t be our manager for long would he? It really beggars belief that we have morons pretending to be gasheads criticising and wanting him out,. It's a weird one with DC, I believe in the guy so much that even if we got relegated I'd stick by him. When he talks about the club everything he says resonates with me. With what he has at his disposal and the state of our clubs 'infrastructure' I truly believe he is working wonders. With the current state of play we really can't ask for anything more than a top half L1 finish/play off push. We are moving forward as a club with him and Wael (even if it isn't as fast as some would like). As Darrell has said before we need to get rid of the 'rag ass rovers' approach if we ever want to progress any higher in the pyramid. Sadly some posters love the old times, probably reminisce about the tote and don't want to see us dragged into the twenty-first century. Same goes for those who are being culled from the club and board and are dissenting. This is why IMO we see so much rubbish written about the board and DC on here. It's no coincidence that the same posters who bash the board and DC are exactly those who complain about the money in football nowadays, complain about all seater stadiums, say that they don't want us to get into the Championship, complain about the introduction of e-turnstiles, openly mock LGBT and BAME initiatives, I could go on. It's because they don't like change. Whether it be social change or change to their beloved Rovers. They want the old times. They want rag-ass-rovers. Maybe it's because I'm at the younger end of the age spectrum but I want progression. No more santa's grotto incidents. With DC I see progression, even if it's just establishing ourselves with a few mediocre seasons in L1 to bring the overall standard of the squad up (I don't want us to tread water but I'd much rather steady eddy League 1 football than fighting relegation or watching League 2 kick and rush). Off the pitch we are progressing too with Wael, albeit slowly. The staff appointments suggest to me the budget is there, or at least the intent to progress and come into the twenty-first century in terms of scouting network, fitness & conditioning staff etc. We'd all like more announcements on the training ground and stadium, but under the old regime we could've very easily gone into administration with the whole UWE debacle. If in the meantime we have to get a few more tent pegs out and make do with an extension of the south stand then so be it. We are watching L1 football at a good standard, with a manager who is passionate about playing football in the right way. We are growing the backroom team, expanding our scouting network and have a great U23 setup with Chris Hargreaves. We're moving forward as a club and I'm all for it. Best post this week by far

and what do you expect ? we are living to our means if you want to watch plastic football by plastic football teams there are plenty of examples of failure in that dept..... Sunderland etc etc What a f**king hoot. Living to our means the facts ie the accounts filed at companies House clearly state that we are not living within in our means. Have we gone bust yet, have we entered administration yet, he we failed to pay any players of suppliers yet like our friends south of the river did in 1982 NO We are living within the means of the Family which is a dam site better than the previous owners

What did Yatesy say and why is he texting into a radio show if he has a problem? It wasn't anything like what it's been billed on here as (surprise). He said DC is the best manager he's ever worked with and something like "give him the resources and he'll get you into the Championship".

Gaffer is a legend and deserves to be managing at a higher level, give him the budget and facilities to get where he and those players deserve to be. Best manager I've ever worked with".

Great more misery for us next season then No just you personally, why don't you just find another club to support in the midlands as it doesn't sound like Rovers are the club you anymore? Wee if I did that then you would not have anyone on here giving an opposite view to the mainstream and then you would have things all your own way instead of having someone to challenge he who can do no wrong

Good interview but its obvious he does not really have faith in the owners. The text from steve yates showed that yates has no faith in the owners. The interview told me he expects a lowish budget again next season.and what do you expect ? we are living to our means if you want to watch plastic football by plastic football teams there are plenty of examples of failure in that dept..... Sunderland etc etc You mention sunderland but forgot to mention brentford, blackburn, millwall, preston, bristol city, fulham, cardiff city, birmingham city, derby co,hull city, leeds, ipswich, middlesbro, nottm forest,QPR,reading, and mostly every club that gets to play at championship level and above. It sounds great saying "living within our means" but i would suggest that nobody ever gets anywhere in the game by doing that.

The interview told me he expects a lowish budget again next season. Well he got a decent budget in January and got his mate in has HoR so whilst it maybe "low" it's probably a damn sight better than most club in our position would give him. It depends on who you believe i suppose on the budget. But regarding january have you simply forgot we sold bodin?

But how many times have we sold players in the past but never seen the transfer fees again? Unless the ALQ's turn into Pantsdown Mk2 there's always going to be a limit on what we spend. As far as "Yates" text was it a actually from him, or somebody pretending to be him it all seemed a bit odd he'd even be listening in Crete let along texting in, unless he's back here again?

I thought it was a great interview full of many positives with a few apprehensions thrown in.
Those apprehensions being the long pause DC took when asked if WAQ has the same ambition as him, and that was possibly backed up by Yates text which I believed to be a little passive aggressive about not backing DC sufficiently enough.
The only other one which isn't even that big a concern is when DC mentioned the supporters thought we were getting a manager with big pockets and we'd be backed to the hills... I kinda got the impression DC thought that aswell, DC probably read the same articles we did ''Jordan Billionaire takes over 3rd Division Bristol Rovers''.
But WAQ has been upfront from the start this is evolution not revolution, and so far the progress we have made has been fantastic. The infrastructure which hasn't been there for 30 years is finally being put in place, but these things don't happen overnight like some would want.
Both DC and WAQ want the same things, I just think the timescales are different, but not too far off.
And I have no evidence behind this just a gut feeling. I wonder if a joint venture of the Bristol Arena and A new rovers stadium on Filton area is currently being discussed and wheels in motion.
