I used to like watching Barcelona an Spain but they've taken possession based football to th point of boredom. No excitement at all in playing th easy pass for possession's sake. Hardly anybody taking th risk of losing th ball by at least trying that killer pass or trying to beat a man.

I'll be amazed if anybody expected that before the game! I rather luckily predicted 1-1 after 90. Still thought Spain would sneak through though. Fair play to Russia. They executed their gameplan pretty much perfectly. Video footage on itv suggests it wasn’t a penalty as Ramos had linked arms with the defender. He was trying to buy it. He had got goal side and had he concentrated on the ball he may well have scored, so serves him right really! It was Pique that was getting fouled not Ramos? |

There were two incidents I think, one on Pique and one on Ramos, but neither deemed clear cut enough to overturn the decision. Looking at the evidence I think it was a fair enough decision. |
