I did explain this on another thread. There is plenty of room at the top of the East Terrace between the first step and the pasty hut. It is a massive waste of space and at least the club are trying to make use of it. The seats will start at the top of the existing terrace and rake upwards obviously. Nobody will be standing underneath a temporary structure but will have to stand behind it to line up for a pasty. Im sure it will be safe! I know there's plenty of room - that's where my season ticket is for. If I can visualise this - i can't see how they can extend this all the way down to the Dribuild - maybe just half way from the furthest point north before there is limited viewing. I'm sure they've done the plans - as Topper says maybe just a small plan or an outline footprint to at least give an idea to the people that buy/have bought season tickets for that area. Lets wait and see. You have to be able to see each corner flag from your seat so they must have done the research.

If I understand this - is this being built behind the existing terracing on the East side - adjacent to where the shop was last season? If so that means the pasty shops will have to go. All these bl??dy tents it's like a Bedouin camp site around an oasis - just need the travelling community to set up camp in the car park now to complete the scene.
Cool. Something like this would be awesome in BS7.
Have patience we're nearly there.

Please don't be another tent FFS. I can't see how we're going to build a stand in 2 months. What a time to be alive.

I think this is only a minor change and will not address the overall issues at the MEM. On big games we will still have adult seating issues ( limited availabilty ) which means only 1200 away fans will be squeezed into the terracing / stands. The criteria to use this 'new stand' is strict eg: family terrace upgrades. Surely it's only gonna be a 100 seater ??

Great communication from the club ha ha. Come on Rovers show some respect to the fans and keep us correctly updated.

So presumably, if you don't have a youngster with you, it means no adult can go in the north end of either side ? Does that mean that on night games when most kids can't go, our capacity will be cut to about 9500? Wonder who thought this one up. Surely it would have been better to put seats both sides and offer more adult seating. That's where the money is. Completely agree with you. Lot of old buggers on the East terrace who would probably have benefited from the option of extra seating and cover. Bit of an odd decision to have 2 family areas, particularly when the South Stand is already very well used for families too.

The tent is only temporary. We will be getting a new stadium soon.

I have been saying for years on old and this forum about increasing away numbers to make more money. The strong argument against this was lack of spaces in south / west stand for home fans. So by having a narrow criteria ' family terracing upgrades' it dosen't address the overall seating problems for home / away adults at the MEM. So I am thinking of a lego style very small addition like 100 seats...

New tent is so embarrassing.
I pray the board are looking at a long term solution. I hate having to drive past Trashton and then come on here and read that we have a new tent going up. Ffs.

Why slag off the club until we see what is proposed? No one is mentioning the U11 season ticket at £1 a game seated under cover despite all the whinging at the last season ticket launch. BTW the announcement starts with the news of the highest ever level of ST renewals.
It might be crap, it might look rubbish, it might not...... It might be good, it might look good, it might not....... It might be a good structure that even provides some cover for the poor souls who get soaked on the East enclosure whenever it rains.....it might not. It might be the start of other (temporary) ground developments, it might not.....
Point is let's wait and see before we assume the worst. If it turns out that way.....then moan.
That said, again the communication is lacking in detail and another opportunity is missed to enthuse the fan base.

I think this will attract fans that wouldn't otherwise come. A seat, undercover, on the side of the pitch, where you know it's just families around you - I applaud this move and hope it pays off.
