Surely competitive conference football is better than development football. Mensah seemed to struggle with the step up last season, Parts less so once he was given a chance? For what it’s worth, I was talking to an Aldershot fan at the cricket in Southampton yesterday and he was saying how much Aldershot missed Mensah when he left and spoke highly of him. UTG!

If he can play wide right can see him and his mate Partington behind him , there could be a good combo down the right . All positive

Assuming it is a failing and not a positive, given even the Premiership teams now seem to keep their line ups a secret until an hour before a game that does seem the way teams are now being selected. In fact it's not uncommon for the formation/line up to be changed during the game. The premier teams have too much cash and are spending on pre madonnas so they have to rotate or they will throw their toys out of the pram So you don't think keeping every player happy at Rovers isn't helping to build the best team spirit at the club since GF's first era?

I think he just needed to settle in a bit more which is why we didn’t see the best of him last season. A few more months with his new team mates and a good preseason should do the trick. Opposition teams talk about the Mem being a difficult place to come so it’s not surprising that newcomers might also feel the pressure, after all, compared to a non-league club we are gert massive aren’t we?

We sign someone no one has heard of and we go mad. Could this be the end of Ollie Clarke, or Sinclair?

I have a feeling OC will be gone soon I hope not. Neither Upson or Matthews are direct replacements in any case. I’m more worried about Sercombe.Totally agree; although I would have to say, Liam Sercombe is top quality and would not look out of place in the Championship, lets hope he stays, although if he does leave, DC has already got that eventuality covered.

I think there will be quite a few more signings to come, especially for the development side too which needs refilling after some departures last month. But I think there will be at least 4 more signings for the first team and some departures too.
I guess most will occur after 1st July.

I don't know why opposition teams find it so difficult to come to the Mem. After all, it's only a mile or so from the M32, and there's an alternative route from the Almonsbury junction of the M4 & M5. There are also numerous helpful signs at all these locations, and there's no doubt that a sat navy system will guide opposition team motor coaches unerringly to the ground providing the correct co-ordinates have been programmed in. Its amazing the number of times I've been hailed by the drivers of luxury coaches who have shouted "Hey mate, how do I get to the Memorial Stadium? I've been driving around Bristol for an hour and I can't find it anywhere"

I seem to recall Sercombe really wanted to move back to the South West when we signed him so hopefully isn't looking to move on just yet. I suppose it would depend on the wage increase though. Top player who I think would make the step up to the Championship if we were to go up. ...when we go up! I’m starting to get a good feeling about the forthcoming season, and you can’t do much better than signing a young, hungry, talented player who has just had the best season of his career. Sam seems like a smart cookie who knows what he wants and DC must have convinced him that he will get it with us. So, new quality players ✅, new pitch ✅, new seating ✅, refurbished bars + associated conveniences ✅, Rich’s bus MOT ✅, we’re on our way to the Championship (or at least another outing to Wembley). Excellent attitude Squiffy - you deserve to see success

Not sure he's the comolete midfielder needed for the Championship just yet. Don't get me wrong, I rate him and his value to us is obvious, but in my opinion he would have to work a lot harder than he currently does to be a success at that level.
