Saw someone climbing on the Tom Nichols statue outside the Mem after the England wonder show, very disrespectful to the prolific striker 😂

The sad story here is that City probably made £20-£30k by having the facilities to screen the games. Roll on bar improvements for Euro 2020.

John Ateyo - prolific striker, and absolute gentleman. The great man was a regular watching the Gas when we were at Twerton - as you say - a gentleman

I suppose he'd be City's version of our very own the great Geoff Bradford. Both wore the England shirt and both pretty much dedicated there whole career to one club. Shame on those who disrespected the statue I say..

John Atyeo an Geoff Bradford are by far an away th greatest players ever to grace Bristol football.
Almost neck an neck in greatness, for me Geoff just shades it as he was actually born in Bristol, but that is in no way disrespecting Atyeo who was magnificent also.
True legends th pair of them.

They were good friends off the field as well.Big John never stood for any messing about if you wanted his autograph.I think he was also a school teacher so he when he put his arms out in front of him you knew he had to queue in single file.He never left before signing all our photos Unfortunately at one game at Ashton Gate Atyeo invited his friend Geoff Bradford to the game.He had 2 complimentary tickets however the gate man .on recognizing Bradford refused him entry unless he paid.Atyeo was so disgusted he never set foot in Aston Gate again ( source the Atyeo family)
