In all fairness this is the 3rd date they’ve given, I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t turn up at all. Anyone on here ever experienced delays with building work? Reading the thread I assume not. Not sure you'd call putting up a tent "building work"? It's hard to believe a company who built all the temporary stands and buildings for the recent Glasgow European Games can't install one small stand on time. "GL events Field & Lawn will take responsibility for production and installation of infrastructure across the site, including: temporary structures, cabins, sea containers, temporary audience seating, staging, exhibition equipment, fencing, trackway, temporary toilets and washrooms, lighting, flagpoles and furniture."

Accept that point but that’s not the way it’s coming over though is it? There was a delay previously and this was communicated, disappointing though it was. The club then stated the dates when they would be put up, of which one has been as stated. The dates for the second one has passed with Zero communication, and you have to wonder why. If it’s a simple logistics issue then what’s the harm in putting out another statement to that effect? Without such a statement/clarification then rightly or wrongly, it leaves a worrying void.

What I cannot understand is that "Dings" ( I think that's who it is) build a new ground just off the M32, UWE are going to build a training type ground just off the M 32. Why cant we build a new ground there? We could have our own motorway exit, which would men other businesses my lease some of the land of us Because that’s called progress and moving with the times - But we’re Bristol Rovers! All of that plus we haven’t much money, I hear marvellous Marvin is being brought in as consultant for the new stands. He’s been promised a trip to Jordan.

Is fence gate about to return?

Then we would know feck all is about to happen, more smoke & mirrors than David Blaine

I see Exeter are due to open there new stand in October. Installation has also started on the erection of the away end stand. This was purchased at a knockdown price from Barnet's ground and will have a standing capacity of just over a 1000. This £3.5 million scheme puts our new tents to shame and without a doubt, yet another ground making the Mem look even more of a Banned word. Plenty of pictures on the web of this, no doubt someone in the know might be able to post them.

because Wael is skint or something Thought the stand was self funding through sponsorship deal.... I believe it is. it's probably just a delay as we are so far down the companies priority list.
It should be communicated better though if there is a delay, although it seems those with seats for it have been sorted out, which is good at least

I was driving up the M5 yesterday & from the motorway you can see Exeter chiefs rugby ground & I thought this stand around 2 sides of the Mem would be a big improvement on what we got.

The new stand arrived, however the rear of the stand clashed with the pastie hut and the entrance clashed with the toilets. In short it wasn’t measured up properly and was sent back. Needs amending now should be back in a few weeks.

Latest from the club is that there has been an alteration to the design of the stand, this lead to a delay in getting the safety certificate signed off the certificate was signed off yesterday. The club are now in talks with the installers to arrange for installation. Tom G says this will be done ASAP.
