Neither do I , like I said , easily accessible via email , I have sent him quite a few in the past and he does answer my questions and also he will also have a laugh and a joke. Met him on several occasions, always friendly, polite and approachable. Do all clubs treat their board the way we treat ours? I would like to think that the silent majority are happy with the way things are going and that the 'glass half empty' fans on here are few and far between. Fortunately there are quite a few posters here that are realistic and fair. With comments like “the landing lights are on” he sort of made a rod for his own back

I think there are some that struggle to understand that SH does not make all the big decision i.e pulling out of the UWE deal. I imagine he, like us, always thought that we would be building the UWE. Takes the blame for some reason.

IMO Hamer is very good at his job. He has been let down on many occasions by others and still has to take the stick.

Steve Hamer comes across as a decent bloke in my humble opinion, always seems to be the one to front up and tries to answer the sometimes difficult questions thrown at him , always seems to be the one they push forward to face the media/fans and does so admirably and honestly , every one else seems to hide behind his undoubted p/r skills.

I'm not sure about him but to give the devil his due, as you point out, he has often been the one who has had to face the media to explain decisions that I expect he had very little say in.

All he did was want to please the fans and relayed this information. He's hardly going to lie and it wouldn't be his fault if circumstances changed behind the scenes.

Other than bumbling through the occasional interview it's pretty unclear to me what Steve Hamer actually does. He introduced the Al Qadis to the club initially (no idea how) and seems to have been given a place at the big table as a result. Now it seems to be almost universally accepted that he's disconnected from the major decision making process which leaves him as simply a very expensive (and bumbling) mouthpiece as far as I can see.
I'm sure he's a great bloke but I'd love to know what he does to actually earn his corn.

A couple of years ago, everyone was whinging because nothing was being shared to the fans, now it is, everyone is whinging! 🙄 It’s obvious that we’ll be looking for a striker, and it’s fairly obvious that they’ll hope to get someone in by the start of the season, but they can’t promise it! Common sense people!

In my humble opinion Steve Hamer is th only genuine person on th board of Rovers.
All th rest of them know what's going on but are economical with th truth an dinnae say much.
He's th only one that genuinely has no idea what's happening!

He gets loads of unwarranted sh** , I think it’s bang out of order to be honest. The guy is easily accessible via email and always has time to reply to any questions, as he has done with myself in the past. But hey much easier to slag him off on here ! Totally agree. There's post after post on here about lack of communication from the Board (including a few from me), yet when this communication appears, it's shot down in flames. For trivial reasons in this case. They can't win.

I’m sure he’ll be able to answer the questions that you’ve posted in regards to what he does.

Its been open season on 'Hamer' for quite some time now, those who have met him, understand the work he has done in cleaning up the club, how approachable he is and how he will listen to supporters fortunately realise that one scentence that turned out not to be the case should not be used to beat the guy with a stick. It's called balance.

I quite like th old fool personally and have no problem with him, but he's a politician when he speaks i'm afraid, when put on th spot he saes what folk wanna hear without giving any substance.
Which i think personally is exactly what he's employed for.

I'm sure SH is a competent chairperson, but some of his wording really drains confidence in him. How about instead of thinks he said: "We are working hard on a couple of potential replacements for Ellis and hope to have one over the line by the time we play Peterborough" Im not a fan he just talks in riddles, quite an odd bloke. Pretty sure he is just there to do the talking for the president
