Not saying you're wrong or anything, but why do you go with another manager's opinion on him, but at the same time tell us that Darrell has it wrong re Bakayoko and the selection of Walsall fans you found on their forum are right to say he's not good enough? At the end of the day, each and every one of us on here are just amateurs, just fans who watch and love our football. None of us have a fraction of the knowledge of what makes a footballer that managers such as Darrell Clarke, Chris Wilder, or any other football manager has. Even Lee Johnson. Exactly right, were all just bloody amateurs on here way out of our depth compared to dc,marcus stewart etc, dont matter if we played football, watched football for years or watched endless videos of matches. We are just amateurs showing our passion by giving our amateur opinions. Its just fun but somehow certain posters actually believe they know more about the game than proper pro football people. You couldnt make it up really. I don't know- I'm not sure any of us fans would have signed Luke James looking at his record on paper and that would have been the right decision! I'm rather worried we are going down the same path with this lad but time will tell. I'm sure all of us hope he is a success because (in the absence of signing anyone else) we are going to be in trouble if he isn't.

Season ticket prices are up, food and drink prices have risen and we have brought in circa 900k and only spent a small appearance based fee for a left back.

We are much more than that in debt and we cannot just ignore that. There has to be a limit on how much we can spend and that figure has to take into account our losses.

Nobody expected the whole £1m to be reinvested but to spend around a tenth of it is a kick in the teeth for fans who've supported the ALQ's in big numbers.

NO. Can tell you are not a racing man. A young raw male animal who in time will mature and could be very useful. Or the Collins dictionary definition; 'A young person or animal that is coltish is full of energy but clumsy or awkward, because they lack physical skill or control.' But that is not the full Collins definition - you forgot ' inexperienced; unruly and playful and lively' if you want to be pedantic pirate - try being honest

As this guy is only 22, I wonder if we could be getting him at the right time?
We all waited years for Ellis to show his true potential, maybe Amadou is about to mature too. Just saying.

On the saddlers forum they seem to be making the similar comments we were making about Ellis just a season or so a go. I.e he’s got the ability but not taking chances etc. From the clips I just watched on YouTube he looks to have the qualities we are currently missing and with any luck can spark a decent partnership with Nichols (or Reily).

The difference is that the Walsall manager clearly agrees with the fans unlike DC last season! Unless DC brings in a more experienced CF on loan as well this one signing could make or break DC's reputation given we look so punchless upfront.

I guess we should ask the walsall manager to pick our team for us, next week, too, then.

So your suggesting that ALQ's have money problems, if so, why employee a CEO and spend a fortune on the pitch and the London Office?

Ellis Harrison in the making or perhaps fully actualised Nathan Blisset?!?

I agree with so many comments on here. But I disagree with many in isolation. I think last years success was a mixture of hard work and some fortune. Elis came good. That wasn’t luck, it was hard work.
The plan was between Telford, Elis, Nichols and Gaffney that we’d have enough was an acceptable plan. The luck was the contribution proportions. Elis was on fire, Rory flattered to decieve and stalled slightly, Nichols missed and Telford wasn’t quite fancied. The plan worked we had enough, but I don’t think we quite knew how.
This season, going in expecting a good return from Baka, TN, and GR seems optimistic. Long term I expect Baka to work. But right here, right now- I’m slightly concerned. However, we still have one space. Baka could be the perfect addition assuming number 4 is something a little more proven.

So firstly, as a club, we have always found/produced good strikers. The last 4 years have been no exception to that. With the coaches we have at our disposal now we are able to take a player, work with and improve him (Nichols aside at the moment, but wiling to be proved wrong).
Looking at the video, Baka is exactly the sort of player we need, strong, powerful, athletic and good with his feet. Watching the videos he is by no means the finished article, but 9 goals last year in a average/poor Walsall side isn't a bad return, with Stewy and co to help him then we could have another gem on our hands.
I don't know the Walsall set up, but as a club they have underachieved for years in this league and have often been at the wrong end of it. Perhaps all those looking at his goal return may want to look at the club also.

I would say they are about where they should be as a club (a lower half league one team)

He seems to like running the channels looks strong as other have said. Interestingly from the video i just watched, he likes to drift between the CB's and looks for the through ball from midfield....
Also saw a comment on twitter from a Walsall fans telling their BoD that they had better have a god sell on clause as we had a great record of improving strikers and selling them on. So some seem to think he has something!

You don't think that with all he has achieved, it will take more than one or two signings to go wrong to break his reputation? Even if we go down he will still be a great manager.
