I was willing to give him the benefit of doubt up until now, but I seriously don't see what he offers us anymore. Seems a bit to much of a 'jobs for the boys' type to me. The signings are underwhelming and lets not forget he wanted that carthorse Bakayoko. Bin him off asap.

Surely at this level the manager as most of the say and the HoR just tries to get them though the door when the manager gives him the nod?

"Surely at this level the manager as most of the say and the HoR just tries to get them though the door when the manager gives him the nod?" Yeah, not quite true, part of the reason for the bad feeling in the dressing room, was some of the players coming in were not DCs choices. And he let them all know. Even occasionally not putting them in the match day squads. TW should do the honourable thing and leave immediately, if all he can manage to pinpoint are players he has been involved with before.

Who is recommending all these players recently like Bakayoko etc? If it's not Widdrington, what is the point in him being here? And if they were his suggestions he needs to be binned off for shockingly poor judgement. Either way, get rid asap!!!

He does appear to be a waste of wages.
I would assume we could add at least one player to the squad for what he's "earning" too.

There are unfortunately many waste of wages now at our club and thanks mainly to DC who as I see it got pretty well "What he wanted as regards backroom staff including TW.Of course TW can only be of use if the club are prepared to pay for the players he recommends. His list may have been very good but we don't know and will never know who is to blame but can guess. To me we are still two players short today on a squad capable of avoiding relegation and unless we get at least another wideman in and another striker it will be a big struggle. I very much hope that the "long discussions yesterday were not just to get the Coventry lads over the line and perhaps (Im probably hoping for a miracle) a couple more will arrive today after their contracts have been cancelled. Surely there was at least one marque signing being worked on all day yesterday?

Probably a Brett Pitman- some would say journeyman but if you get the right ones they can make a big difference, although I have to say I have no problem with the three incoming players. Just feel we are short out wide and this will affect our overall chances.

Funny that of those 1,000s of players the ones we sign are all linked to Coventry in some way. What are the odds of that?

On the face of it he doesn't seem to be doing a great deal of out of the box recruitment, however we don't really know what he's been doing so to cast him out on that basis would be wrong.
What concerns me about Dwayne Sports, and I'm trying to be more positive, is that it is clearly evident that we are spending less money on our club now than we were 2 months back.
DC and MS have been replaced by internal staff members, and their previous positions haven't been replaced. Will DS plan to do this? We have seen a net reduction in the number of players and staff on our books. Now I understand this may not be a bad thing as we had a slightly bloated squad anyway, but we've added an inexperienced defender on loan to replace Broadbent, and added an additional midfielder to a midfield already full of experienced L1 players. We have added a striker to replace Payne which I am happy with, however we have lost a wide player from our already very thin list of wide options, which is bizarre. The loan window opens again next week, is that correct? Maybe we'll bring in a wide player or two then.
At the end of the day, as others have said we have to get behind the manager and the team, and I will do just that, but there is something very unsettling about the way our club is being run in many aspects. Some meaningful communication as to their short, medium and long-term intentions for the club, and not just wooly "We'll continue to work hard to move the club forward" statements.

I started this thread 2.5 years ago and after 5 transfer windows still wondering when we are going to start seeing the benefit of TW.....?

I started this thread 2.5 years ago and after 5 transfer windows still wondering when we are going to start seeing the benefit of TW.....? I fear that TW's 'promotion' the the board and seemingly comfortable relationship with Wael may be something that may be a hindrance.
Still some hours to go, but Joe Day and George Williams as the only incomings would mean this window is underwhelming to say the least.

So ... according to this thread the guy makes terrible signings but he should have made more of them before the window shut?
If his signings are so bad why are you not all cheering that we haven't brought anyone in?

Underwhelming is putting it kindly.

I was under the impression that fans support the club not run them down at every opportunity But i stand to be corrected I’ve always supported the club Henbury so don’t start that bollox with me , pity the same can’t be said about you mr checkatrade 😉 I think there is support then blind faith. The difference is huge. We will always need those supporters who question and ask questions rather than see the club fail.

Wanting an ineffective head of recruitment out is supporting the club. Either get him out and replace him or let the manager do the recruitment.
