Slocombe 5 poor kicking but hardly anyone making themselves available for a quick throw most of the time. J. Clarke 5 Lockyer 4 Broadbent 5 Craig 4 O. Clarke 5 some good moments but like all our midfield lacked any movement to find space when we had the ball Upson 4 must be better than this, he certainly didn't look a defensive midfielder to me Sercombe 4 wasted anywhere but central Rodman 6 worked hard and surprised he was taken off Payne 7 good effort and scored Bennett 4 looked confused what he was supposed to do and where he was supposed to play Subs: Lines 4 Nichols 5 Matthews 4 Crowd 5 Ref 3 Accrington 7 much more organised and effective at what they did than we were. |

Results in and Stefan Payne was Man of the Match with a score of 7.09.
Payne becomes the seventh player to score a MotM on his debut. He follows Taylor, James Clarke, Boateng, Lumley, Broadbent and Upson. Only Boateng's 7.4 was better than Payne's score.
Along with Boateng, Gaffney (8.0), Sweeney (7.7) and Clarke-Salter (7.6) all had better debut ratings, making Payne's the fifth best rated debut since the start of 2014/15. He is the 69th player to make a debut in that time.
The crowd score of 4.9 was worse than all but in one game last season- the 4.4 for the Wimbledon away game.
There were 27 ratings given for this game, the most for any game in these threads. The previous best was 24 for the opening home game two season ago against Oxford.
