So if Accrington who survive on gates 75% of rovers can hold their nerve why can't rovers. If DC is tone be believed the first he heard of the Ipswich bid was 2 days before the transfer so either the club aren't telling the manager of bids the manager is not telling the truth or you are grasping at straws to defend the club. Another point that the club wanted the money was revealed by Ellis when he said ms persuaded him to sign for ipswich How does Accringtons gates come into this? It was the last day of the window? Ipswich wanted him and Accrington told him that to get him or miss out they have to pay so much. Ipswich had literally zero time to move on to their next target if they even had one and so struck up the deal. With Ellis they would have been able to say thanks but no thanks, we value him at 750K and that's the most we're prepared to pay, and could have moved on to other targets because there was weeks of the window left. It's not grasping at straws it's just a bit of common sense. The club can't force another club to bid more than they want for a player. Accy also only got a fee in the region of £1M, not £2M as you suggest. Forget your reasoning, some just don't get it.

It's frustrating, on paper. Unfortunately its "on paper" that all we know. Everything else is pure speculation. Personally not happy over the number of times we have, as a club, sold players that were good enough to enable us to compete in the Championship. That said, during those times, our back of house was nowhere near ready. Is that being addressed? It appears so, and with that lets see what Clarke does with this squad this season. If this descends into rank mediocrity I can see him leaving

The problem as I see it is that we have too many players, most of which are mediocre. This applies to the midfield especially. Upson, is he any better than the players we already have? Not really. The Beard, for the last few seasons he has played half a season, and to be honest he has reached his level. Speaking of which I would also say Ollie Clarke, and Clarke, have also reached their level, although Nicholls should be in Div 2, because that is his level. DC has gone for quantity rather than quality, and he is also far too loyal to some players.
For me, if DC cannot get us in to the top 8 this season then he should go. We have been here for 2 years and we should be looking up. Every year without fail we have a bad start and go out of the FA Cup at the first possible opportunity.

Or we can be like Accrington they knocked ipswich back 3 times until they got the deal they wanted they didn't grab at the first offer and close on 2m for a 2nd division player was a great deal unlike 750k for a 1st division player.which club got it right? Oh and by the way Accrington demanded the lot up front or no deal You got any idea whatsoever about the in's and out's of buying, selling players for a 1st Division Club? More than you have

You've dealt with Player transfers at a higher level than Div 1? I don't wear blinkers, maybe that's why I can see right through you.
