Chelsea and Bristol Rovers both only have one 'l' in their names?

our away support at Aldershot (1,255) was larger than 7 out of the 11 other Conference crowd totals today.

They scored on the opening day before transferring well done. you've answered the extra bit of the question... Cureton and Lambo did that, whereas Steve Yates NEVER scored for Rovers despite 196 league appearances (and 1 sub appearance) and 41 cup appearances. But he did get a couple for Tranmere in the FA Cup v Everton. Now known as St Yates Day. you can even buy the tshirt

Steve Yates is a goal machine...

We have lost our last 9 (yes, NINE) ganes at Wrexham.
you need to go back to 1995 to even find a draw.
1979 to find a win. And funnily enough we beat them twice that year! (just the way the fixtures fell)
oops.
P.S. QI fact - we've never played them in any Cup game.

Last season despite not losing since mid-September Luton Town didn't hit the top of the Conference until 28th December 2013. People talk about their 'bad start' but they only lost once between the 2nd game of the season and the middle of March (yes, MARCH - 1 loss in 34 games) yet only got to top slot on game 25, after a run of 13 wins and 4 draws. ... BECAUSE Cambridge Utd won their first 12 home games in a row, disgracefully letting in 2 goals and only scoring 28! This season Barnet have been top since 30th August. I'd love it if we knocked them off

QI: Hyde FC, who some of you may know as the team that infamously had the worst season in the conference since it's inception last year, with a staggering 38 losses, 7 draws and just one win, a 2-0 thriller away against... Welling United.

Three part quiz for anyone as bored as me watching 'ambush-marketing' ruining what was already a perfectly bad UEFA cup/league/farce match...
Assuming we lose the next game....just for the sake of simplicity. That will mean after 23 games (half a season) we'll have 38 points and (unless we lose 6-0 or worse) a positive goal difference with half the season gone...so...
i) What was the last season that we had more than 38 points (after 23 games played)? ii) What was the last season that we had a positive goal difference (after 23 games played)? iii) What was the last season that we were in the top half of the table (after 23 games played)?
The only clue is they were all different seasons. Santa will not visit you if you use google/soccerbase/statto.com

[At least] 2 Rovers players have the middle name 'Alphonso'. name them... Stuart Alphonso Sinclair and Alvin Alphonso Bubb? if only. although Alvin Ryan Bubb does apparently hold the dubious distinction of being the 3rd shortest player ever to play for Rovers, and the certainly the shortest in the modern era. and didn;t score any goals for us. You are right though that the Alphonso's are in the recent-ish past. I didn't realise it was such a popular name in the 60's! OOps, just realised one is Alfonso and the other is Alphonso. slapped wrists.
