Good news! G/K is an improvement, rare clean sheet, last time i looked out of bottom 4, unbeaten for two games!Beard available if needed, just need that creative spark, any ideas?whats that triple barreled name winger we had on loan couple years ago doing nowadays? Crossing from the full backs was dreadful so the sooner we see THD and Partington back the better. Apart from the crossing Kelly did well. Once Sercombe is back the competition for places in midfield will be strong.

"How was Reilly any better than Nichols? "
EH? Did you watch the game?
Yes, did you?? Tell me one thing Reilly did that Nichols didn’t? Fact is they both received pathetic service which is our biggest problem. The majority of our shots come from midfielder potshots.
Well for a start Reilly had a shot that just went wide before he came off, did Nichols even have a shot?
His all round general play was better too, the runs he made etc.

I think we would have won if the linesman hadn't given them that free corner. Craig did brilliantly to win the goal kick, then the tosspot awards them a corner. This was then followed by their best spell of the game. Until that point they were not in the game whatsoever. So cheers, EFL, for your wonderful officials.

Got up to watch this on I follow at 8.30 am local time and thought we edged it but our final/killer ball is just not there. Defensively our full backs did well though Leads does not track back quick enough at times but their distribution was awful. Hard to rate the strikers as we dont really give them much to work with. Matthews needs to get more involved as he looks class on the ball. Thought, again, all officials were desperately poor and you do wonder what their thought process is when they consistently make wrong decisions. Mind you BBC sport report said "in general defences dominated a full-blooded encounter, well refereed by Graham Salisbury" although that was last week's ref!

So we would have won the game from a goal kick that wasn't given..? OK then...

You know exactly what I am saying you WUM. No need to be a smart arse just because we have differing opinions on Reilly today. But sure, I'll spell it out for you. Before that point, they were not at all in the game. Following the corner they came into the game and sustained pressure on us as a result of the corner which shouldn't have been. Pressure which caused us to bring off our best player in Matthews and from then on we didn't look like winning it.

If Nicholls score rate was better than 1/50 we would have won that.
That's a 2% chance of scoring.
Could be wrong by a slight margin but there you go.

Positives to take out of today are Clean sheet Back to basics 442 Players in correct positions.
Hopefully DCs finished with his annual chopping and changing playing players in wrong positions that he always does st the beginning and we can go on a run now. I’d start Reilly and the Watford lad up front next game and keep the rest as they are. Lockyer and Smith out of side and we keep clean sheet. Only thing lacking from today was a goal for us although Macey made an unbelievably good save to keep Mathews out, and we need to find the right combo up front so I haven’t got a problem with DC changing that about a bit. Got to stay 4-4-2 for now though , lines and clarke in the middle Mathews and Bennet out wide , players in their correct positions , keep it simple.

How can Nichols shoot at goal if he doesn't get given the ball to shoot with? Ronaldo wouldn't score in front of our midfield. For me, Reilly's general play was no better, no worse. Both victims of pitiful service. If we're going to single out a striker today it is Payne. He was useless today.

Thats the difference, Reilly got into space, and so got the ball and got the shot away, he at least had a shot, Nichols, well um...........

Shame really. Got to agree with that. I’m a big fan of DC ,who in their right mind wouldn’t be but I felt his subs today killed the momentum we had early second half. It’s almost as if he put a rocket up them half time they responded well then he changed it and it killed the game off and allowed Plymouth the point they came for. Happy with the players effort today and happy with the formation it’s was exactly as I asked for on here last night but disappointed with the subs. Reilly and Mathews have to start and not be subbed and lines has to start he will find their movement and from what I’ve seen the Watford lad has movement and his pace is decent too . We haven’t been outplayed this season yet but we’ve only won two games and that’s down to lack of pace , creativity ( whilst Lines was injured then suspended ) and movement. Payne and Nichols together aren’t going to score goals from open play they’re both too static and it reminds me of Harrold and the Scotsman the year we got relegated to the conference. We need to have more tempo to get our forwards running about more and keep Bennett out wide he’s so much better there combining with a full back and I mean a full back not Craig. Small steps today but a clean sheet and a point so not all bad UTG

We were on top with only one team in the game really in the 2nd half, then DC subs off the impressive looking Reilly for Nichols, whilst leaving the utterly useless today Payne on the pitch, and then for the next 30 or so mins it was all Plymuff. That's at least two games running now those two haven't a managed a shot at goal between them.

The Matthews sub was due to LEDs pulling up. He needed help but he was kept on for ten mins to long (tried to run if off?).
Another hammy?

Thought we played well up until the final third which unfortunately is a pretty important part !! We defended well as a team I'm convinced a keeper with the confidence to command his box & come for crosses has made a big difference. Personally I'd have taken Payne off rather than Reilly as he pretty much offered nothing today.
